Why do people whine on about alt-f4?

it lets disapear the body of the person that alt + d4 and they may spawn alive again even when they died.

It doesnt work for me eiether, Ive only used it to escape hackers that have disabled the abort button.

Now I always have task managed open, if a hacker appears I minimize and click end task.

I only use this to escape hackers

Basically it's so little noobs who are in fear of getting killed in a PvP firefight can just simply log off and avoid death and save their gear... then sometimes they try to "ghost" behind whoever was fighting them to kill them... just as bad as scripting if you ask me but again just another exploit.

I love waiting for them to attempt to ghost me and im already waiting on them.... Sucks to be you kid ;)

You have to push Escape first, then Alt-F4 from the menu. It won't work in the game.

Yeah, one server hopper got my team all except myself once and when we killed him.

He tried 4 more times to server hop to the same spot and each time we gunned him down.......ah the stupidity of some people

I don't care about them using Alt-F4 to deny you the loot ( if they die they won't have their equipment anyway ) but if they Alt-F4 to flee from combat they are pussies.

Nah i don't agree with ALT-F4'ing to deny loot... if you kill someone legally you should be entitled to their loot... i mean reap the rewards and all

Hello there

Alt+F4 is a standard windows "close it down quick" command.

In game it's used to avoid confrontation and to generally be a scaredy cat and also to deny victors of their loot.

Unless used to avoid hackers or if bugged, it's seen as poor form in the community to use it, especially in combat.

It still works in game btw as others have said.

TL:DR Don't do it.

Maybe this exploit could be crimped by making disconnected player characters stand up motionless for a minute or so after disconnection or logoff. During that time the character can be killed and looted without the player's involvement and the player can only jump back to their stationary character's location if they re-login. if you can't be sure your character is going to be safe for a minute or so, then you are kind off using logging off as an exploit.
