Do regular arma II servers even exist anymore?

Do they? I tried to find one but it's mostly other mods that you need to register for, i'm confused. I'd like to see what the game DayZ is build on is like online, but having a hard time finding a server.

Any vanilla arma players out there?

I just tried to go through the regular multiplayer button in arma II's main menu. What i found was some sort of modded lobby or something where i had to register to play. This gave me the impression that all other servers are like this.

I guess i should go check again? >.>

I usually type 'domi' in game mode filter to find the normal lobbies. Make sure you don't have DayZ active though, else you won't see them.

Try disabling your add-ons first via the Arma extensions menu, then all you should see are regular Arma servers. You could try using Sixlaucher, some find it easier. Just use the little arrows in the top left to scroll through the different mods availabe until you reach Arma 2. Then all you'll see will be vanilla servers.

I suggest the Silent Warriors public server, it's pretty nice and has the domination game mode around it

Hello there

There are loads of us out there playing arma2! Perhaps not as many as Dayz :)

What mods do you think you have to register for? Im a bit confused by that.

Some mod loaders like Armarize will automatically download the correct mods for most servers (there can be a fews issues with selected mods though) so try looking at that to help you.

bear in mind many mods will drastically increase your Arma footprint. (i'm at about 60gigs now) and that some mods are large and will take time to download.

My name is [MTF] MAJ Bullets.  I am the highest ranking officer of a Arma II Milsim Group entitled, "Multinational Task Force."  I understand that you are looking for an generic Arma II Game Server in the hopes of discovering where the Modification - now- stand alone -  game DayZ originated and what the Real Virtuality Game Engine has to offer.  You are correct, it is harder to find Arma II servers out there as many are preparing to make the move over to Arma III, but they do exist.  Use the MP filter to find servers and look to find Arma II servers.....if you look for ours....type mtf in MP filter and will find our server....no DayZ here.  Good luck...long live Arma!!

I tried WASP, I did not dig the lack of grass. There are, sadly, a lack of good ArmA 2 pvp servers. I don't dig domination or wasteland.

Hey guys, Ive been playing ARMA for a while now, and I did a fresh install. But I cant join "normal" servers. All i see is DayZ overpoch and epoch servers, but I dont even have the DayZ mod installed! The filter doesnt work either, as i type in "losis" (for losis armory) into mission and theres nothing! If I could get some help on fixing this, it would be greatly appreciated!
