Since I've started playing, I've had 6 lives, my 7th hasn't spawned yet. I would read this, this is interesting.

My first life I got hit by a fence, died and respawned.

Second life, I spawned, went into Elektro, got some great loot, and I accidentally aggroed a single Zed. I fired my Makarov and attracted four more, and I got hit too many times and started bleeding. However, my bandages were bugged so I couldn't use them (WTF?).

Third life I spawned and some walkers were apparently sitting on the spawn site, died immediately.

Fourth life was interesting. I managed to get off the coast with decent loot. I ended up dropping my gun and traveled into Zelengorsk and managed to meet up with a buddy, got an M1911 and a crossbow with three bolts.

Long story short, I wasted too many bolts, ended up traveling south instead of north, got hit too many times and ended up with 3,000 blood. Got some loot at Balota, including an MP5SD6, and some at a gas station. So I crawled into Chern, went into some apartments looking for loot, and while my back was turned some asshole shot me with a Lee Enfield. Have fun taking care of those 20+ zombies you aggroed, asshole.

Fifth time, respawned at Elektro, looted a firestation and saw a noob looting the place I'd just been to. I believe he turned and put his gun in my face, so I shot him multiple times, inflicting what I thought was lethal wounds. Nope, he survived, and managed to knock me down to 3,000 blood AGAIN. I crawled over to the church where I was promptly killed by an asshole with a Winny. I barely got a shot off.

Sixth time, I spawned on Elektro agan, looted some buildings that were said to have a good chance of spawning guns but I saw nothing but ammo. Crawling out I caught sight of a guy with 15+ zombies on him. I sprinted into a hangar and shut the door, hoping he wouldn't come in. Wrong. One door opened, I aimed my gun at it, but another opened. I aimed my gun there. Then TWO guys came in, I turned my back to show I was no harm. Instead I get lit the fuck up by Makarov rounds, hit three times and died, even though I shot the guy in the station 5+ times and he didn't die. So instead of asking me to help me take on the thirty zombies chasing them, they shot me, and probably died of lack of ammo.

Now, I know what people are gonna say, " GET OFF THE COAST!" Well, I'm no n00b, but the thing is I CAN'T get off the coast. I either die running to the hills, or I'm low on supplies and I need loot. I'm not leaving Cherno or any town with so little supplies.

Go ahead and call me a a care bear, but realize that I know what I'm doing, I'm not some idiot who runs with lit flares and sprints around.

You do not go in major cities if you are serious about surviving, period. There are plenty of other places that you can get the same loot for less risk.

I leave the coast and head to Stary with starter gear, along the route I end up refilling canteen at watering hole due to running the entire time.

Never prone by a fence, never go in cherno or elektro. Especially when the last 4/4 previous ventures ended in your death.

If you spawn on the East of Elektro "Rog castle" is the first stop you should make, On the West of Elektro "Pusta". If you spawn at Balota and dont want to risk the airstrip head North "Kozlovka", spawn at Kamenka North again is "Pavlovo". You can reach them all within 5 mins from spawn. Same loot as the big cities except military weapons, but there are deer-stands around for the military weapons.Then your "off the coast".....

First time i played i was shot by a player and got away alive i spent the next 4 hours near blind and not able to really see from blood loss, i had no ammo and ended up throwing cans at zombies crawling on a broken leg and you know what i loved every moment of it, i was hooked on day one. I refused to go down without a fight and ended up dying in the dark of the night. I think the first time you play is always the hardest and I knew from day one it was the game for me. If by day whatever your still crying over it perhaps its not the game for you, we all get our cherry popped sometime, mine was first game.

I must be friggin invisible because I have never got shot running into the hills from the coast, even when i have seen/heard people nearby. I swear its never more than a few 100m to the treeline... if you don't stop and just go full pelt, it really is not difficult to escape the coastal bean wars.

once you are in the trees you are more or less safe so long as you check that nobody is following you. Then all you got to do is find some small town or whatever, prone in, steal the beans, and crawl out. Deer stands are gold mines for decent weapons, considering it only usually means 3 zombies at the most...

I really don't understand this apparent difficulty to escaping the coast... but hey, maybe i'm just super lucky.

Keep in mind that this isn't a game, yet. It's an extremely rough alpha. Rocket is aware that the game lacks content and cooperative play is currently only a real option if you team outside of the game. It will get better or it will fade away.

(That is not to say that PvP is going away but the humanity system will be meaningful in some way and there will be more opportunities for cooperative play.)

Try to be patient and give Rocket and the devs time to finish the game.

Tip #1 Dont use crossbows, they're awful.

Tip #2 Be glad you wernt around when you could die from climbing ladders with a pistol

Tip #3 Never show your back, anyone who comes at you with a weapon pointing at you, blap them in the face, double tap.

Tip #4 Makarov is one shot one kill to the head on players.

Tip #5 If you dont hear flies, theyre most likely knocked out bleeding.

Tip #6 Dont hear flies? Blap them in the face a few more times for good measure

Tip #7 Enjoy the loot, now abandonship.

Tip #8 Assume everyone's a bandit

Tip #9 X + Shift is your best friend when going past zombies or over roads

Tip #10 Never run full pelt anywhere near zombies

Tip #11 If you've got a horde chasing you run to the nearest enter-able building and follow tip #4

You start off with a full water bottle and 2 cans of beans. That's plenty of supplies to get you pretty far inland. I've only gone into electro once, and spent most of the time sneaking and crawling from other players rather than looting anything, and watching from a few blocks over the constant repeating shootout at the church lol. You'll actually gear up faster running around to the outlying towns and isolated barns and whatnot because you don't have to spend so much time evading bandits.

The direct chat voice actually works now, and I've had success two out of three times when i suddenly came upon someone by saying "don't shoot, i'm friendly!" I suspect your success rate will be a lot lower in electro/cherno or at the airfield though.

Everytime I spawn I just go to nearest city, run to a hospital, shoot glass, grab medicals, run north, stop at a barn, kill zombies, continue north, give blood and grab weapons from friends.

Try joining a clan.
