bridges1 4 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) So i log in, in the middle of nowhere trying to find my bearing when what do i spy a crached helo. OMG! After i calm down a bit i make my way slowly over to it, thinking of all the goodies in side what to a find, a camo suit. No Nvg,guille uber guns nothing. Banicks 55 Posted September 7, 2012 I've found that approaching some crashed helis that the loot won't spawn immediately. Additionally, it can be a big pain to locate the loot piles around the heli. With the added issue of patrolling zeds nearby the site, it can be enough to almost make it impossible to locate loot safely. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It never respawns.I'm not saying it respawns, I'm saying there is a delay on spawning loot.I've approached a heli and gone around it 3 times, open flat field, no loot. After a 4th semi circle loot appeared on both sides.Either there was a glitch, which is highly possible seeing as when I approach towns on motorbikes it takes the town a few minutes to spawn loot. ptk (DayZ) 178 Posted September 7, 2012 make sure you really search these crash sites because loot has a tendency to spawn in the ground. I once found a crash site and like you, had my hopes dashed when there was nothing. however, I aggroed a zombie so I crawled under the tail of the chopper. then, I suddenly found two spots where it gave me the symbol to loot and ended up finding an as-50 and an l85 aws (no mags for the l85 though). I have no doubt that it was looted prior to me finding it, but whoever found it could have very well missed these items... gl! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

svenbreakfast 231 Posted September 7, 2012 It happens sometimes, and no where on the map is the middle of nowhere.Sometimes you gotta look really really hard and cover all the space a couple of times. okami (DayZ) 129 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) I have been to 4 or 5 heli crash sides now and i never found anything except one FN FAL for which i had to crouch halfway into the pilot cockpit and somehow glitched to a place where the FN FAL was lying. I have searched every crash site mousewheeling like a maniac 3 or 4 times around the whole heli, crouched, proned and standing, in 1st and 3rd person. They all where in the middle of nowhere with military zombies spawning fresh in a a circle around the copter.I think sometimes they just spawn without any loot.
