puppetworx 474 Posted September 5, 2012 Strong trolling. I suppose saying drinking Mountain Dew on top of Green Mountain is a good idea now too, huh? There's definitely trolling in this thread...I've been killed there about the same as I have been killed in Cherno/Elektro. Not quite safe enough. now Petrovka north of the nw airfield. That seems pretty safe to me! I'll hang there anyday....Petrovka is a good place to find vehicles around though.Lol having a helicopter at your "safe zone" is basicly a giant advertisement to get yourself killed by bandits.Yes, it would be but who would store it there when it's not being used?Even if it was safe before (which it wasn't) it sure as hell is not going to be now.I wouldn't say anything is safe in this game, but it is safer. I'm sure it will become a bigger target if friendlies move up there, worse then the spawn zones of Cherno and Elektro? No.
Sakeoe (DayZ) 115 Posted September 5, 2012 I go to berezino every time I need medical supplies, never met another player there. But since it's directly on the way to the North-East airfield allways stay cautious.
Jex =TE= (DayZ) 218 Posted September 5, 2012 BEWARE, if you go there on the server I play on you WILL die. I own it, I have lived there for 2 months now and I do not plan on leaving!!But, it does have everything you need to survive, BUT stay away, far far away!!!What server are you on and what's ur ingame name so when u die I can see "Luckyr Died" or whatever it is :)
RabidDiabetic 63 Posted September 5, 2012 Well as a 2-day old player with nothing to lose I'm heading to Berezino when I get home from work. If it truly is the land of milk and honey it will help me finally get some supplies and do the exploring I've been dying to do (literally.) If the server I choose happens to be a bandit hangout there then I guess I'll die, nothing new for me. Don't get me wrong, despite dying frequently as I learn I love this game. hoorah (DayZ) 36 Posted September 5, 2012 Since I had never been to berezino, I decided to check it out the other day. Ran into town, didn't see anyone.Found an apartment building with a bunch of lee enfield and .45 ammo. Brought it all up to the roof. Picked off zombies with the Enfield. Whole town came running, shot them all coming up the ladder. Then started seeing how far away I could pick off zombies with the .45. After about 10 minutes of this I got bored and logged out. Either the town was empty or no one wanted to party with me.
EndEffeKt 87 Posted September 5, 2012 We actually did the same thing some weeks ago. Doing some zombie-hunting from the roofs in Berezino is pretty funny. We came to the decision that we never fired enough in this game.
puppetworx 474 Posted September 5, 2012 I did the same!I killed over 100 zombies over the space of 30 minutes, good fun and practice.
Baddum12 2 Posted September 5, 2012 I love the idea of a friendly community where others can trade and whatnot. But announcing it on the forums is usually the beginning of the end.
EndEffeKt 87 Posted September 5, 2012 Yeah pretty right, but lets see how it works out. When I get my new machine I am back in DayZ. Buggs are ok, but Buggs+12FPS is just cool for a while :D
puppetworx 474 Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) I love the idea of a friendly community where others can trade and whatnot. But announcing it on the forums is usually the beginning of the end.I wanted people to go to Berezino and see what it's like for themselves, just to get the word out. Hopefully a few tens of people will see this and go check it out, which means you might get a few people on any given server actually visit Berezino. Bandits are more likely to stay down South where new spawns abound and it's like shooting fish in a barrel then to head all the way to Berezino in the hope of seeing a player.Once enough people get the picture then we can pick a server and organize things amongst ourselves in private. Zombie Jesus 723 Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) You guys always have to rain on someone's good time, the OP did not mention a server so it is still safe and yes Berezino is still the safest of the three coastal cities with really good spawn locations. Whenever my group finds a vehicle we hit up the old lumber yard and grab parts to hunt for additional vehicles. While the city is a little off the beaten track it is a good place to loot for medical supplies and industrial complexes (by the time I make it up there I normally need next to nothing from the residential spawns, but it does have two grocery stores), and yes it is many times safer than Cherno or Elektro down south. Anybody saying differently is just taking an isolated incident and thinking it is the norm, for those of us who have actually played for quite some time we know Berezino is not a PVP hotspot. Nice city with good spawns (even a construction site inland that can yield almost everything needed for a vehicle), so I salute the OP for trying to give players a safe haven. Having said that, it will quickly devolve if so called friendly survivors start heading up there in large numbers because most of these guys call themselves friendly and only mean they are not actively looking to add a murder to their tally (which accurately describes me, not looking to kill you but if I happen across a geared player odds are one of us will die). suKi 43 Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) I have a few uh, theories as to why it is isolated.ASSUMING NWAF is the goal area, since I first started, I also assumed it was ( I realized it is rather a waste of time. the majority of time.)People spawn in Solnichniy where would they run? If I just started I would think smart and be "im not equipped enough for NWAF" I would head to where it seems most "equipped" such as Elek and Cherno area, because it has so many options. From here the view point of Berezino is just like "meh" its isolated, where do i go from there if nothing is there?By the time I am down south It is TOOO far a trip to run all the way there for perhaps "nothing" when Elek and Cherno are right there, running to each city will refresh each others item spawns.Another theory.People spawn in Kamenka. "SIMPLY FUCK THAT" they say to Berezino.Another theorySo i have geared up, got my own base (Assuming the tents and car saves work) LETS KILL PEOPLE THIS GAME IS BORING. *heads to Elek's sniper hill* pwns some newbs who thought berezino is TOO FAR and/or isolated. They then die. probably quit etc.And then these guys are having the time of their life, you know with their AS50's M24's ETC JUST KILLING CUNTS. They don't wanna leave. So yeah. Thats why Berezino is so empty. Now, Im not going to give you the pro's about berezino. If you want to take the hike up there and risk the unpopulation and/or dissapointment, BE MY GUEST.*trying to take people away from such haven* IS IT WORKING? DemonGroover 8836 Posted September 6, 2012 Yep Berezino is a nice place to be :) I like the Apple-Tree plantage, where there lives this lonely Pig I kill from time to time.... Yes its lovely in Berezino ^^Last time i went through the apple grove i got hacked to death by an axe weilding hacker who wouldnt die.
TheManFromTheWoods 21 Posted September 6, 2012 I think the target around that area after this post is a bit large to venture up there for a half hour to be killed.

Bearded McGee 121 Posted September 6, 2012 I don't want zones devoid of zombies. No true safezones. In the current system, they can't work.In the event that a group of player would get the town running and friendly, bandits would soon congregate there.Remember that the current build of DayZ encourages "banditry" for the sake of killing....Woa, I ended up writing so much. Gonna split it unto a new thread actually....
Delta Smoke 01 765 Posted September 6, 2012 Anyone that wants car or heli parts goes to berenzino. Anyone that wants medical supplys safely goes to berenzino. That place stinks of death. And onions.
Bludy 324 Posted September 6, 2012 one minute ago i got killed in shiny people free city!
manseedcannon 5 Posted September 6, 2012 On which server?I've practically lived in Berezino for about a month at one point on various servers and majority of players were just looting and didn't want trouble. I handled the handful of bandits who were trying to give the place a badname, but I wouldn't say there was PVP. I put a stop that the time I was there.i lol'd
puppetworx 474 Posted September 6, 2012 Anyone that wants medical supplys safely goes to berenzino. That place stinks of death. That's some interesting dissonance you've got there ;)I'm trying to work out a way to network with friendlies in order to ferry them up to Berezino from the south coast, any ideas?
NFK 102 Posted September 6, 2012 I always go to Berezino or Krasnostav for supplies, least populated two cities in the game. The past few days I tried out Cherno and Elektro on high pop servers just to see if I could manage it. Was impossible to gear up without getting sniped all the time. It's a long hike, but if you want to live in the north, Berezino is the logical supply point, aside from other players' tents. Tabris07 159 Posted November 7, 2012 This would really be amazing if you could pull this together, but the trick is to get enough skilled survivors to be willing to help and get it going. And for that, I do not have faith.
xx_fr0st-w0lf_xx 53 Posted November 7, 2012 To the OP Make a clan and go make berzino a safe zone, it would honestly be a interesting experiment. to see if with a enough people it can actually work out. Don't blame you for not saying which server its on, but if you manage to create a civilized society of friendlies (which im sure is next to impossible) then you will have successfully defied the laws of dayz
