Stuck on Skalisty Island

Yesterday i found a boat and decided to go on a journey to Skalisty Island, as i get there i save my boat as i usually do but short after that the server restart.

So, long story short, how do i get out without losing my gear?is there anyway to know if the server will make my gear vanish in the water? is there anyway to spwan anywhere else?

Yep, just join a server, when it says "Loading" after "Waiting for character to create", close ArmA and join again. You'll spawn on the coast with your gear.

swim to the coast?

I have tried swiming in other situations and i end up losing my gear in the water, i think some servers will do that to you but others not, and i really dont want to take the risk.

I think you no longer lose gear in water.

edit: You can test the waters (heheheh) by swimming around with a piece of less valuable gear while you leave the rest on land.

Losing your gear when swimming is a server option. Some serves have it on and some have it off. I know for a fact that US 444 has it off. So if you join that server and swim you will NOT lose your gear.

I've done that swim, and I didn't loose any of my gear. Probably server spesific. I'd just go for it. Or... leave your gear somewhere on the island. Suicide among some zeds, find a baot and go back and fish it up again. :D

The only way I ever get there is swimming.

Tip: When thinking about crossing, get yourself a tent. Set tent up on coast and put all your stuff in (hidden obv). Swim across, do your thang, swim back, retrieve gear, have happy times, log off, find porn, smash your willy to bits, sleep.

90% of 1.7.2.5 servers have the option of NOT loosing your gear turned on. If you consider your gear that valuable to take a puny 10% risk, swim on DE 2050. you're welcome

Do it on US 1313. My server is setup so that swimming does not cause you to lose your inventory/backpack.

My server (US 2507 Dallas) defaulted to not losing gear when swimming (1.7.2.4), I didn't have to set anything.

Swim. You won't lose your shit. I put on a ghillie and got teleported 4k off Kamenka in the water. I swam back and still had all my gear.

Try the server US 669. YOUR GEAR WILL not be lost.

If you're of a nationality that gives you disgustingly high ping, then just try a low pop server that has decent ping for you. Go slowly into the water until it makes you swim. If you lose your backpack, merely retrieve it [it's not that had because the water is shallow].

I always swim to that island and i have never lost any gear, i dont think that still happens
