bad_mojo (DayZ) 1204 Posted September 4, 2012 People will circumvent any type of mechanic for this, but who the hell cares, the honest players won't.
SmashT 10907 Posted September 4, 2012 No, impossible to enforce and I don't really want to hear background noises of anyone I am with.
AzVirus 25 Posted September 4, 2012 I choose no, if we all lived in a vacuum, maybe. But if my wife, kid or doorbell gave me away that would not be the "realism" you're after.

venthos 605 Posted September 4, 2012 As has already been explained, most headsets/mics have a "mute" button allowing easy defeat of such. If not, a quick keyboard macro would accomplish it. You can't "force" it on as a result.Secondly, I would probably die much more often from laughter of hearing these survivors/bandits spew audio like dogs barking, moms saying "Jimmy, got off the computer and do your homework!" and other such hilarity. So, no.

aussiestig 681 Posted September 4, 2012 Because everyone is either not going to play with a mic, or they'll mute it.
