Strategos (DayZ) 190 Posted June 13, 2012 "What we're describing is the difference between two guys: " That's exactly what I'm describing. In our group one is a great heli pilot, some of us can manage it, others wont go near the pilot seat. Some of us are sneaky as hell and avoid Z's like pros others keep alerting them and cause all sorts of shinnanigans. Etc etc It almost sounds as if we have different skills. " What you say right now is only half right."You're getting there keep at it.
bjwimer 2 Posted June 13, 2012 NO professions. You woke up on a beach and lost your memory. Time to figure out what the F happened and survive.
Deuzerre 64 Posted June 13, 2012 I lost my memory but had the miraculous powers of instantly knowing how to shoot, know all firing drills, repairing cars and helicopters, hunt animals.Yeah... Seems legit.I don't want classes that evolve with life/level/xp. That's arbitrary.A random set of "bonus/malus" abilities though seems logical. even though those bonus/malus would also be sort of arbitrary, at least they are based on something. They wouldn't really have a direct effect on survivability, and there shouldn't be any bonus to accuracy and stuff, at least not on the most powerful weapons. There is a difference between individual skill (A player is better at shooting and the other one at driving) and experience/knowledge (A discreet hunter and a skilled medic).
