Deadseriouz 0 Posted September 3, 2012 Ok, so this is what happened. Me and my friend was going around the hills above cherno looking for spots to snipe from. When we met 3 other snipers, they killed my friend like 20 meters infront of me...we had been looking around for ages after these snipers, when we finally found them after countless of hours we crouched all the way down to cherno. anyways, i managed to kill 2 out of the 3. the 3'rd one insta logged out! and about 30 sec after they were killed the server just restarted. Suspicious? not at all...i know they had some fat loot on them but i guess if you can and u think you are up against mental people you just restart the server so no one get an advantage on you -.- There was NO warning about a restart, nothing. I do not have the name but if you have logs on this around 01:00 at night when this occured. Server restarts without warning are all too common, but dodgey server owners will just cry "hacking" as the reason and its impossible to prove otherwise.Did you catch the names of the two you killed? Admins are usually identified in the login screen so if the two you killed were both admins, or in the admins clan, then it would raise the suspicion levels a little.If you want to do something about the general dodgeyness of some servers, head over to http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/83273-community-ratings-rankings-for-servers-to-help-identify-dodgey-servers/ and give my idea some love. IcyZ 295 Posted September 3, 2012 something similar happened to me at around the same time in a DE server.i was with a buddy in cherno,when we got shot from 2 different directions,first from the treeline,we were on the industrial thingy roof,we hide,and then we got sniped from another guy in the other side.2 clan members(tags same with the server's tags)were online,and they were the guys that got us.We respawned and ran to our bodies,to get our guns and revenge,and my friend got next to his corpse,and then the server restarted,right before he opened his inventory..when we logged back our bodies were gone..was that a coincidence?admins are getting way too cocky and stupid,there was a guy with a sniper in Drakon(cant spell it right :P ) and he was sniping everyone right when they spawn..4 guys reported it to an admin and he did nothing,prolly he was his friend..admins just abuse their power 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

PleaseI don't think it's a matter of what they allow and disallow. They hope that server admins are responcible enough to run a fair server. I for one, do not ban for hacked weapons, unless I know for sure that you spawned them in the game. I don't ban for Alt+F4 during pvp because I simply can not watch everyone that pvps on my server. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing admins should be doing, is banning hackers and keeping up with server maintainence. It's all i do on my server.I got killed a few days ago on my server by another player. I had a fully stocked Off-Road truck too. The only thing i did was congratulate the guy. It was only fair. And just because we stumble over some admin(s) we should lose all we had? I don't see how anyone can be against me on this one. And how you don't see how weird it is that there is a reset 30 sec after i kill 2 snipers with fat loot. Whatever i guess we as players are supposed to put up with this crap? This game is nothing like i was told. I can handle hackers because it's easy to trace down but when admins abuse their powers the game just dies in my eyes. agippo 37 Posted September 3, 2012 I dont think anyone is "against you", Alt F4'ing, and dodgey server restarts are an unfortunate fact of DayZ. However, the onus of proof is unfortunatly on the person to bring when making these claims. You have described a shitty situation for sure, but there is no way to pin this on an Admin of a server. Its suspect for sure, but its not provable. Even if you had the power to go through all the logs, you coudn't prove the shutdown was related to your kills.I also suspect DayZ has given up a lot on investigating dodgey servers recently. A casual glance at the "server reporting" thread shows almost no new threads have been approved recently. I understand people are still lodging reports, they are just not being approved by admins and put up on the site. Check my complaint out if you want a comparison. We had a server admin openly admit he kicked and banned players for killing clan members. I made a complaint a week ago and I have heard nothing.
