Private Hive Information

I've noticed that people won't give information to people wanting to go private hive on how to actually do it, and I feel this is a massive problem.

You say it's not supported which is fair enough, but just give them the damn files they need. Sticky the topic and make it clear you won't answer any questions about it. Simple.

Why you a​sk? Because it's a step towards dealing with the rogue admins. We as players can't do anything about these, the same way admins can't do anything about hackers (well not obvious ones anyway)

Put it like this.

1. Someone comes here asking how to make a private hive server. They get told by everyone that they can't help them, and to Google it. Easy enough for some, hardest thing in the world for others (somehow, I don't get it personally but..)

2. After being told no and they can't find any information, they decide to just get a legit server.

3. As soon as they get their server approved and receive the necessary files they want to do with their server what they want to do. So they abuse the system, kick people, restart the server everytime they die, and they don't get blacklisted.

do you see where the problem is?

If you just gave them their private server from the start they wouldn't be creating these problems for everyday players. They would go do their own thing on their own server, but instead they are pretty much forced to get a legit server and just abuse the rules if they are too stupid to know where to find the files elsewhere.

HFB host their own Privates now, using something called Bliss. I would look into that as a starting point.

Nonono, I'm not saying I'm looking for info on how to make one, I am perfectly aware on how to use Google :P

I just think that for the people who are backwards and can't it would be a start over having "official" servers that constantly lock/get restarted if you kill an admin.

Ok, let me give some info that everybody can understand and use and hopefully i wont break any rules.

ALL private hive software does NOT come from dayz devs. Yes its the dayz software, but it has been modded and changed to be able to run private hive, and dayz devs HAVE NOT done this.

So its very pointless to ask around here on how to create it, as they havent created the private software and do not support it :)

Go to tunngle forums to find ALL the info you can ever dream about, on private hive and how to set it up, but dont expect it to be easy :)

Theres several different version, with different advantages and different setup, so it can get VERY frustrating.

I am not gonna link to anything here. but go to the tunngle forums under arma II oa and find what you need hopefully, just dont expect anyone to help you with the setup :)

im sorry if i broke any rules, but it seems like people need to know what to do. and no disrespect to the dayz devs or mods, you are doing a FANTASTIC job and i am so happy you opened the private hive section. thx guys

It would be foolish to pay for a private server setup btw

Maybe you mods should post in the sticky in private hive that you dont give out the private software or support it :) just to clarify

The first sticky in the arma thread there is server files and instructions on how to install. What else are you looking for?
