So I posted a thread the other day and it got little bit of attention. So let's call this part 2 and a follow up to that.

The Dayz staff gave an update saying that the new patch would be out after or around the 6th of Sept. The forum admin I wrote about in my previous article then opened the forum back up, and said let the flood gates open.

And the dayz staff got flooded with thank you's from everyone.

See. It's all people wanted. Now was that so damn hard?

Unless there is a problem and the patch isn't released on time. Then once more the DayZ staff are the great Satan. I'll refrain from stating how I really feel about you and your attitude. Just know you lost my sub.

Let it be one day late or something wrong or something certain people wanted fixed isn't and that forum post will go to shit along with the forum itself filled with whine.

My attitude? The same attitude that is assumed everyone who wants some idea of whats going on with a mod has? Yet they get a post saying that it will def be after sept 6th and that was enough for them and contrary to the so called "attitude" 90% of the community including myself are suppose to have, the actual attitude is a bunch of Thanks You's. And if you were a sub of mine you would know my attitude is if you don't want to be here then have a nice day.

Yep, 1 min after the sixth, with no update the world will end.

Then we can blame the OP for forcing a rushed update since he is trying to claim credit! :P

Why are you so impatient ? ... I mean you are a YouTube Director ... you should know that it takes time to create stuff properly ... but you act like somebody owes you a perfect zombie apocalypse simulator ASAP ... for whatever reason

Least we have a time zone for it now, no more "OMG when is patch released QQ!!" Fingers crossed a few of the major bugs are sorted, at the end of the day I can still boot up DayZ and get a game, that for me is all that matters!

..after or around the 6th of Sept.

ROFL, "after or around". This means exactly nothing.

You do realize that January 25th 2018 is also "after" Sep. 6. 2012 :)

At this points i just wish for them to ditch the mod support completely and only focus on the standalone.

The time of the mod is over imo. Every patch for the mod takes time/manpower away from the standalone even if

it is not that hard to introduce stuff from the standalone into the mod.

My attitude? The same attitude that is assumed everyone who wants some idea of whats going on with a mod has? No, the attitude that you are owed something. The attitude of someone who doesn't care whats happening elsewhere. I don't know if you heard, DayZ is going standalone, he has more important things to work out now. Look if you are dissatisfied then stop playing until it isn't. This mod is the last thing he needs to worry about. He has a bigger fish on the other line son, let him work that one out first.

Yet they get a post saying that it will def be after sept 6th and that was enough for them and contrary to the so called "attitude" 90% of the community including myself are suppose to have, the actual attitude is a bunch of Thanks You's. I won't bother debating anyone who just makes up stats and percentages, all you want to hear is what your preaching.

And if you were a sub of mine you would know my attitude is if you don't want to be here then have a nice day. I was, i guess i didn't, I will and glorious tidings to you.

It was better to give us an approx release date and if it goes to shit, they can always tell us, the date went to shit due to whatever reason.

This is transparency that will make the community trust and support the developers with whatever problems they may encounter.

Not saying anything is just shit and only aggravates the community/customers/whatever, this goes for all kind of business out there with an end user/customer.

Not leveling with customers will lead to mistrust and eventually they will look for other options.

It's rule #1.

- make the customer feel important and seen.

Like this thread needed a part 2.

/sigh - go away.

you know the same people bitching for an update will be the first ones bitching when it isn't out on the 6th.

i would rather have all the staff working to get the standalone finished. The only thing i want them to do with the mod is fix the graphics glitches, then i'd be happy to play without updates!

Wow... No communication: RABBLERABBLERABBLERABBLERABBLE!!!

A noncommittal 'After the 6th of September.': Wow we feel communicated with and special and important and a part of the development process! Thank you!

Any dolt could've seen that was where it was going, but by God they're terrible people unless they tell you every step of the way.

So we can expect to see you at around 1 PM on the 6th yelling 'WHAR UPDATE? WHAR?!'

Wow, yeah. Not only are you as self-entitled as you made yourself out to be in your original thread, you're incredibly arrogant and smug. You're responding like you finally got what you were "owed". No one owed you anything. You forced an ETA where no ETA could realistically be given. That's why companies (like Blizzard) have wizened up to impatient rage queens like you and say "when it's done" for an ETA.

Having an arbitrary date for when it might be done does nothing for anyone other than temporarily silence the rage queens like yourself until that date arrives. Then the date arrives and all you rage queens will be spamming "how about now? what about now? are we there yet?"

Then, since this is an ALPHA MOD, undoubtedly there will still be bugs that weren't fixed or NEW bugs that were caused. You will then rage queen it out all over again and act all self-entitled again.

Please understand that there are people in the DayZ community who feel you are solely contributing a DETRIMENTAL effect to the DayZ community, and are doing absolutely nothing constructive or helpful to DayZ.

You are not some white knight of the community. You are an idiot. Stop posting these threads like you're acting on the behalf of the community. You are an embarrassment to those of us who understand what this mod is, where it is in its development cycle, and are just having a shit load of fun with it.

They originally said the .3 patch would be a week from the .5 hotfix.

It has been almost 3 weeks (tomorrow will be 3 weeks).

Some alpha test... a patch once a month. Heh.

Some alpha test... a patch once a month. Heh.

If only there were some rare and unique event that occurred which caused the only developer for the mod to suddenly have almost no time for development.

Oh! Standalone announcement, subsequent meetings/plannings with Bohemia Interactive about it, and subsequent mass PR campaigns regarding such. Before you complain that Rocket should've not done all that PR work in lieu of barreling in on the mod's patch, somehow I think the Bohemia Interactive (who is now financially vested in the project) had some slight request that Rocket promote a game they will be selling and footing the bill for.

You guys kill me with your self-entitlement.

And if you have not read my previous posts I said that the standalone is not an excuse for anything. They could have said support for the mod has ended, they said it continued, so no

You are my hero! All of your posts are interesting to read :D

When a development team tells a community they will continue support for the mod then at that point they owe continued support. And its not self entitlement if they promise something. They owe the community patches. People still purchase Arma 2 directly because they believe that the mod will be supported. If they say that the mod is no longer supported, 90% of the sales for Arma 2 over the next two months will end. So if they don't want to support it, fine, stop supporting it and focus on the stand alone. If they do then let people know whats up when it's nearly a month without any word. But obviously then plan on supporting the mod since they released some news about this sept 6th lose date. So people are now owed a patch and are expecting one sometime soon after the 6th of Sept. And yes if its the 20th of Sept when it comes then people will be pissed and rightly so.
