So we need a Full database wipe, real bad, i have played many alphas before and there is always database wipes

1. To many Duped and/or abandoned tents

2. To many Duped, Hacked weapons

3. Tents and vehicles do not save

4. Clutter

5. No such thing as a "rare" weapon anymore.

If you wont do this then please raise the 1,000,000 cap so the new vehicles and tents will save. people with new servers, the stuff wont save, because of this.

As for me, i say yes

I would like to open a few more servers but, no point since items wont save

Been suggested many times before, it is pointless as people that dupe will have a massive advantage over the people that don't. They already do, don't get me wrong, but it will be even more so.

well its not just for the duping, the tents and cars don't save anymore, well at least the first 1mil placed ones will, but the rest wont.

im all for it AFTER they fix the duping completely, if they dont fix duping there is no point.

^this. but this isnt going to happen till standalone.

He said he's in favor of equipment degeneration. I'd hope that is a silver lining to the current inflation of NVGs, AS50s, and other duped/hacked items.

At least for the stand alone.

The only real argument I see against this is "The hackers will keep hacking and dupers will simply redupe."

That may be so, but it's good practice to wipe during alpha's and beta's. Who knows what other issues that's causing. Every single alpha/beta I've been part of wipes on a regular basis, the fact it's been two months (For me personally) and no wipe, is incredibly surprising.

I think a wipe is needed to clean things and reset stuff. If you don't want to loose all your progress then wait until the game goes standalone. (At which point a wipe during that would be unacceptable, unless extreme circumstances went into play)

If you need an argument in support of this, head up to the NW corner of the map and see how many tents and camps are up there with masses of gear that is clearly hacked.

I understand that some hackers will keep on hacking, but Battleye seems to have got on top of some of the hacking now, however their are a massive amount of "legacy" weapons that have been passed from body to body for ages from the pre battleye crackdown.

I also think the fact that their are tent cities up N - NW indicate (to me at least) that a single hacker is spawning heaps of gear that he then sticks in a camp for his clan / mates. This means a group or clan only has to risk one account to generate all the hacked gear, then everyone gets to loot it.

Otherwise why the hell would hackers create tents and store gear if they can spawn whatever they like? I think it’s due to this approach, where one account risks the ban to create the gear for everyone, leaving others cheaters with “honest” accounts.

Wiping out these camps would then force cheaters to rehack, risking detection under a (hopefully) better battleye detection system. Im all for it

Yes some of them would be hackers but a lot of them are players that are knowingly duping. Sure there are people that unknowingly dupe, but that seems to the usual excuse when someone gets called out on it.

Duping may be an issue, but im talking about findings tent groups with multiple copies of every item in the game. A non hacking duper would still need to aquire these items fairly in chopper crash sites and in barracks to start the duplication process, this is possible, but lets be honest, its amazingly unlikely.

From what i know from the two dupers I am aware of, they tend to do quick dupes to expand their exisiting items they already have. They then play with these duped items, they dont bother amassing masses of stuff to build a camp up north as its a waste of time.

So...

If the hackers are gonna keep on hacking...

If the dupers will just keep duping...

And the honest players will benefit from it...

Why not do a database wipe anyway?

It's like when your OS disk gets full. Do you keep using a sluggish system that will eventually crash, or do you just format it and start over fresh?

The point is, a wipe would remove all the old gear from now banned hackers that is still in game. This would mean hackers would have to respawn gear, exposing themselves to bans. It's insane to suyggest this would fix the problem, but it would reduce its spread for a while.

It needs to be done. Not his data on kills deaths but the saved info of users needs wiped.

Before we do that tho we would need to update the saving of data to stop duping / hacked items.

So the wipe is not a waist trying to slow or stop them from cheating would be nice but don't think we can stop people sadly.

Every time there is an update this needs to happen.(like with 1.7.3)

Take us back to day one.

Everybody starts again.

No camps.

No stocks of weapons.

Every single tent deleted.

Every vehicle reset.

when the hackers start to hack again then there will be another 20,000 bans(as there have been since June).

The dupers will lose their ability because the tents only seem to dupe if they were set in 1.7.2.4 and are now used in 1.7.2.5 therefore all tent dupes would be erradicated in one fell swoop.

I know that they would start again somehow - but at least there would be real rare weapons and not 100,000 as50 heat seeking snipers.

Wow what a good idea mate.

This is exactly what the dev team should. They should do it once a month tbh.

It doesnt take much thinking to see how some of the lag and loading issues could go away like this.

I know on my private hive, when i reset the DB i cut loading times in half and everything runs alot better :D
