any assault rifle, my favourite is m14, but anyone is good for the hero work, the m series have less stopping power in some cases, and aks are easy to find, so you'll be well equipped in not so much time, also the shotguns are good, i like the winchester too..i'd avoid completely only sniper rifles, camping and oneshotting isn't the hero's style.

I downgrade my gear, when I go do my hero thing in Cherno. People are more friendly, when you don't tempt them with your coyote pack or your gucci rifle.

The only thing that makes a hero easier is the fact that alot of them are admins who can respawn fully geared. Although the same could be said for bandits, just that admins tend to want to become heroes to promote a community in their server, or at least the good ones do.

wot!? you realise that admins are not "gods" or hackers....only hackers can spawn in items etc...only hackers can teleport around the map and only hackers can change skin on command....the only way i see this statment anywhere true is they had a camp close to the coast to restock (kamenka anyone?)

I rock whatever I come across. Recently, this has left me as a very intimidating hero walking around with an MK48 Mod 0.

If I had my choice, I guess I'd go with a M1014 for primary, and a silenced M9 secondary. I think shotguns cry out "zombie hunter!" more than rifles do, so that's my reasoning.

I would recommend a quite primary (Maybe a M4A3 CCO SD), and a makarov.

Why the makarov?

Because any smart person is going to aim for the head, and the gun has good iron sights, along with the large abundance of ammo.
