Supercars and map related ideas.

I recall Rocket saying some things about new maps for standalone.

Now, I know the idea of a city like map has been said before [so DON'T say "use the search function". I'm talking to you, Mods] but it doesn't matter. I would just like to re enforce it with my opinion of such a thing.

Take Cherno for example. One of the biggest cities in the game [if not the biggest]. But when you think about it...it's not that big.

Now, how about a much larger map, where there are highways? And much much MUCH larger cities?

This is where my idea [or, perhaps it's not my idea] of supercars [yes, you read correctly] comes into play.

You have these massive highways. Massive, long stretching highways that are all over the map. Wide highways that allow for multiple vehicles to be on the road. Now, since the map would be massive, speed is a necessity on these long roads.

How about having some supercars?

• Small storage. Therefore, make the rarity of the supercars MUCH more common. Merely awesomely epic transport. And I suppose make things like V3S's, URALs, Buses, etc, more rare, as they are primarily storage vehicles.
  
• High speeds [perhaps matching the speeds of the IRL supercars]
  
• Customisable supercars, such as the ability to tweak the performance of the cars by finding parts. The ability to customise your own body designs. [i.e. you could get the ID of your car or something that only allows the current owner to customise the car. Once you have the ID, you could externally --perhaps internally if possible-- customise the colours, looks, etc, of the car. Imagine speeding down the highways at high speeds in a car with whatever customisation you wanted!] I would like to thank the forum user Trizzo for this inspiration.
  
• Car radios. Perhaps the Devs could implement a radio station with their own music choices [you could perhaps tune into other frequencies --ingame teamspeak, eh?-- of other players. Former bolded text is not my idea, it has been something that is a common idea]. Maybe even they could occasionally [when they feel like it] say something in the radio to the players?
  On the note of car radios, how about the ability to upload your own music into the radio [i suppose it would go along the way the ID works that I stated in the customising section] and play it in-game?
  

These are just some ideas that I would ABSOLUTELY [*insert every other highly positive word*] LOVE for something like this to become a reality in standalone.

I apologise for any grammatical, spelling or any other literacy related mistakes made.

P.S. I mean, come on. How cool would it be to be able to speed down highways in your own favourite supercar? My favourite is the Audi R8 GT V10. Although, it's not particularly great on speed compared to other cars, but an amazing drive non the less. What is your favourite supercar?

I'm sure there would be a mod somewhere out there of Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore V8 Supercars. I'd definately drive a Mark Skaife or Craig Lowndes supercar.

Your idea for a larger map and cities is sound in principle, but it also means a HUGE amount of work extra for the DayZ team (not in itself a problem, but takes their time away from important things like fixing bugs and making the gameplay work)

Chances are you'd also need a Goliath of a computer to cope with all the rendering of skyscrapers etc.

As for super cars, do you not think they would be really impractical in the event of an actual zombie apocalypse? I mean, sure they're fast, but like you say, they have very little storage space and are quite fragile as far as I'm aware - wouldn't stand up to crashing through a few zeds very well.

If you want massive open world super cars, why not go play need for speed? They will do the whole customisation thing you talked about far better than DayZ ever could

Supercars are rare to the point that I live in one of the richest cities in the United States, and I've seen maybe 2. I doubt you would be running into one in rural Russia either...

Super cars would be ridiculous and if you have them then it would be logical to include tanks also, just go and play GTA if you want that. I don't think it fits well in a post-apocalypse survival game in the least.

I'm almost embarrassed to come from the same country as you. "Supercar" is another word for extreme sports cars, ie. Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Aventador, Bugatti Veyron, Aston One 77, so on so on.

V8 supercars are not road legal, nor are they supercars. Despite what the general Australian public think, both are merely racing cars with the same shell as their real life counterpart.
