Crossbows Aim Improved

Recommended Posts

i don't know if this has been posted before so i'll take my chances.

In my time using the crossbow in DayZ it has been a weapon that i would love to use more, but becouse of the AWFUL aim it's really hard to keep in use.

so one of my suggestions would be to fix the aim so you actually hit where you aim.

my other suggestion is to add Optic sights to them. Since modern days crossbows mostly do have Optics attached to them i think it would be both realistic and cool to add that to the crossbow ingame. :D

This could easily be done by increasing how much of the screen the crossbow model takes up and changing its angle. I don't know if it was a compromise between obstructing view and accuracy or what, but I hope it would be a simple adjustment.

EDIT: Although you can quickly figure out the sighting by shooting at a wall repeatedly. But still, why the extra crazy?

And the reload time sucks too. You should be able to have 4 shot quick reload thing going on. Basically if you miss you have to run for cover.

That's really unrealistic. Have you ever tried reloading a crossbow in real life? In real life, you to stand still, put the crossbow on the ground, put your foot through a built in hook, pull the string back, insert the the bolt, and then your done.

Thank you. Someone who actually understands realism.

My biggest complaint about the crossbow is that the bolts don't stack. If the bolts stacked in groups of 4 or 8 I think the crossbow would be a more attractive weapon really.

I would like better aiming on the crossbow [optics], but keep other attributes the same.

Would use it more.

Also, can you put in in your pack as a primary weapon and keep a handgun as secondary? Never had a chance to find out. Good combo between silent and noisy zed killing.

Quivers will be in the standalone.
