Which pistol do you prefer?

I'm currently carrying a M1911 and a G17.

For the M19 i have about 8 mags, 4 mags for the G17.

Which one should i get rid of?

Magnum, there seems to be a huge influx of ACP ammo which made me fall in love with it.

Depends on your style.

Right now, I am utilizing the Glock 17. It has a flashlight, lots of ammo in one magazine and isn't as loud as the rest of the pistols.

Of course, it takes like 1-3 bodyshots to kill someone, but I use it mainly for zombie killing. For the rest, there's my M4A1 CCO SD :P

I find the recoil and the slow firing rate of the magnum what ruins it.

PDW all the way. So much ammo and you can use full auto for panic mode. Quiet too.

Personally I prefer the G17 for the flashlight + doesn't even alert zeds 10 meters away when you shoot. It has good accuracy unlike the M9, and isn't terrible to try to aim with like the PDW. It also helps that I tend to stay around military spawns making M1911 ammo hard to find.

If I was hanging mostly around civilian spawns I'd keep the M1911.

G17 all the way.. Flashlight for low light, not too loud accepts 2 type of clips (I believe) and since I headshot Z's, it's fine for that.

M1911 for me. Ammo is absolutely everywhere and it drops players and zeds in one hit

The 1911, though I might switch over to the revolver if I can ever find one. For the past week or so, I've been finding tons of magless .45 ACP, when previously I couldn't find any.

The PDW is a great PK'er, because you don't need any trigger discipline in CQC. It shares G17, PDW, M9, and MP5 magazines, which are as common as Makarov mags when combined together.

Glock 17 is the quietest unsilenced weapon, and the capacity and range are better then the other 9mm, and ammunition is more common then most military grade guns. Flashlight is awesome for night looting in quiet locations.

M1911 is the ultimate zombie killer, and the most powerful pistol. 1 shot, all the time. You don't have to go indoors and headshot each of them, you can run out to the field instead.

Revolver has common ammunition, but is alot louder and slightly less powerful then the M1911, and holds 1 less bullet. Not worth it.

M9 sucks. M9 SD is a good zombie killer if you ever find ammunition for it. Both blow against players because you have to empty a mag into them. Rare and not worth it anyway.

Makarov, loud as an M1911, holds less then an M9, same power as a PDW, fire rate of a Revolver... yeah.

Glock 17 is my favorite. Only alerts zeds within 15m, can usually find ammo, looks sexy, don't need a flashlight.

G17, you can use silenced Ammo for it (game bug means that it also make the wepon silenced to z's if not other players). 17 in the clip, being quite means you can safely take down Z's in one head shot hit that you think might get in the way.

If you spend your time in more player populaited towns thouhg M1911, as the G17 sucks at PVP if you get caught of gaurd.

Plus running wiht a flashlight at the night through the woods is great for 'spooky vibes'

Both for same reason, quiet and lots of ammo. Maybe not alot of g17 mags, but each mag has alot of bullets :D

Both quiet, only use for zombies/animals.

I have a 1911 and a glock, but I primarily use the colt, if I need more lead downrange I use the AK.

Best pistols: Revolver and Colt .. they both do the same damage tho.

1911 Pro: less louder than the revolver.. but still loud indeed;

I take the 1911 anyway, the ammo aren't that common like the revolver, but they still very easy to find, and in every place (they are not military loot; in fact i usually find em in the general stores and apartments). 1 hit 1 kill and not crazy loud to attract any damn zombie around you.

Any other pistol in the game is just too weak: the G17 is only a good looking weapon, but it needs too many bullets to kill, at this point i'll take a Makarov (some power but much more common mags); the beretta SD is pretty useless (doesn't make noise.. but men, you need a whole clip to shot someone down, even with headshots!); PDW, it's nice because it accept any 9mm mag.. *but* too weak.

The G17 is a close second for me though, simply because its cool.

Proper use of a flashlight is much, much less dangerous than actually firing a shot as far as giving away your position. They basically have to be looking straight at you when you turn on the flashlight to find you.

I've tested all the guns in Dayz extensively in the armoury and in a homemade shooting range and found that the revolver is best at long range, almost perfect accuracy up to about 150m, the 1911 starts going everywhere after 75m.

Though sometimes you need more speed then power, in that case i'd go for the glock.
