that's a good question.

the reason is that in arma females use a different skeleton than males. this means every animation has to be made twice. it would be possible but the raw mocap data rocket used for the males would have to be put on the female skeleton from scratch. also it would be better to let females make the mocap stuff to make it fit the bone structure of the female skeleton better.

i'm sure there will be female zombies in the stand-alone version of dayz. as i said it's really just a matter of making extra animations for the females.
