Suggestion for improving gameplay

Recommended Posts

We should have couple safe zones at map. From safe zones you could get missions, like find 3 blood packs for wounded survivor and when you return those asked items you get reward. I was playing with arma2 armory and thats where i got this idea. It would improve gameplay from pointles walking and looting.

NO.

/thread

Edit; Alright, so.

In MMORPGs, people are complaining about how the quests are always "kill X of X" and "Collect X of X".

Why are people so desperately trying to bring those elements into an MMOFPS? More-so DayZ?

I discussed this with the our team members at great length of many arguments, the idea behind safe zones. The eventual consensus was that it went against the ethos of the project. This whole concept, and the reason it "works", is that there IS no safe zone (unless you make it). Your actions have real and brutal consequences. There are no game designed safety nets.

Why make something that has already been done?

Are people so used to games shoving rules, tasks, stories down their throats that they can't handle it when something doesn't? Or would you like a world where the players actually get to do this? Not a structured and controlled environment that is "dressed up" as post-apocalyptic?

A: No "safe zones", this is completely contrary to the point of a survival game where you are always insome sort of peril

B: What "rewards"? After a player is done walking and looting, they usually have all they gear they want or need anyway.

Ok, shot Down with heavy AA. =D Why i suggested that mission thing is that how long players will be interested just walking and looting? For short period it feels interesting, but for the long term goal i feel that would be tripping Stone of this concept. Forget those safe zones. Should players have some goals that they need to accomplish. Now theres only surviving and finding nice loot. What i do when i have all shiny nice things, nothing, kill other survivors for fun? Theres something missing from this concept. But if its not the mission thing i suggested, what is it then?

Well, I've been playing for several, several months, and I'm yet to lose interest to the game.

The thing about the game is that you have to make up your own goals. You CAN get the best gear in the game and cause chaos across the shoreline if you want to be an absolute dick in your end-game. Me? I group up with any and all squads that need a navigator, or medical help. Sure, I have been shot while doing so, and I've now been to every single square of the in-game map at least once. But I'll happily keep on running until my legs break. (Ironic, isn't it?)

NO =]

But a player to player quest system will be great. If the resources was harder to get, will be awesome a system to trade goods for work (like body hunt, find vehicles). Lets say a radio channel, that you can listen to work. A ingame system to support player to player quests, not appealing to forum to get your N.V in trade of your range finder and etc.

Am afraid it is up to us to create our own safe zones, my friend.

As for quests - again, there is nothing stopping a player giving others quests.

Might start it myself.

An NVG to the first person who brings to my Cherno apartment a.....................shrubbery.
