Sparks (DayZ) 14 Posted August 22, 2012 I've been wondering this since 1.7.2.5 came out.Concerning the hero skin, does anyone pay attention to it at all? Do you think twice before pulling the trigger on a person with the hero skin?I've seen threads where people claim to shoot any and all bandit towel heads on sight and not feel guilty about it, so I'm wondering if the opposite is true for the hero skin.I do not really expect bandits to pay much attention because they have nothing to lose and a humanity hit means nothing to them. If anything I expect them to target the heroes first as it implies they have been alive awhile. Survivors on the other hand have real choices to make when they spot one. At the same time however, the hero skin is easily exploitable because people can heal their bandit buddies and get it, then use it for god knows what sort of deceptions. On another note, humanity seems to be bugged out a lot for some people too so who knows what type of person is wearing what skin.Personally, I'm trying to get the hero skin just because it looks awesome, which is difficult because I normally play solo. Alpha331 7 Posted August 23, 2012 Ok they really don't work. I had Camo before I got sniped after me and a mate set up camp in the middle of nowhere, he was pissed, but I was used to BS deaths like that. Anyway I respawn and get the horrible glitch where you loose all humanity I was on 5,300 then I respawned on zero, trouble was I thought I had hero sjkin on, but then everyone shot me on spawn and I finally clicked that I had bandit, anyway, I then use about 10 bloodbags on my mate to get my hero skin back. This highlights two problems, one skin glitchs, secondly and more importantly you can't be sure, me I was a guy with only one self defense kill to my name looking like a bandit, then the next minute I look like a hero because I exploited it back. People are more comfortable shooting a bandit, you have to do something pretty bad to be a bandit most people think, but with a hero, its so easy to get, you may as well be an untrustworthy bandit in hero's clothing. Inception. 9443 Posted August 23, 2012 If I tell someone with a Hero skin to drop their gun and stop moving [or any other instructions] and they disobey me, I don't hesitate to shoot; they're dead in a heartbeat. One's skin does not stop me for doing what I have always done, regardless of what they have done. Hobnobskid 18 Posted August 23, 2012 I play in a Hero skin and I've found, if anything, I'm more of a target. My other conclusion is that Hero skin has an ancient curse bestowed upon it. Either way you're fucked. On a different note, I wish I could tuck that shirt in. What a scruff
sostronk 334 Posted August 23, 2012 Only met one person who hasn't frantically tried to kill me as soon as theyv'e seen me. Hero skin is a hinderance as its more visible than other "skins".

porkus_maximus 36 Posted August 23, 2012 99% of fresh spawns/"beaners"/civilian clothing players have tried to kill me since getting the hero skin. The way I see it, civilian/camo/ghilie players are an unknown factor and you just can't really predict how they'll react, but having the hero skin basically sends out a message "I wont shoot first". So anyone who wants to take advantage of you can do so.The only reason I have the hero skin in the first place is because I'm playing on an outdated rig that's getting replaced ASAP, I'm useless in combat because my framerate is too choppy but I do spend a lot of time distributing medical supplies. I would quite happily kill more players if I thought it was necessary for my survival, which 99% of the time it usually is.
aru_azif 70 Posted August 23, 2012 hero, bandit and survivor skins are like skin colors in real life they don't mean jack shit cause every color does the same shit good and bad.so why bother making diffrences ingame when it's the same shit.white, black, yellow and red they all kill people they all save people they do bad things they do good things.hero's bandits and survivors kill save help and deceive people so i aint bothering with how i act against them they're all the same to me.
