slaace 5 Posted August 21, 2012 Hey everyone, so basically I'm an avid Day Z fan, been following the game for months while my PC has been out of action,Finally just got my PC back today, and was about to initiate the Arma II and Day Z mod download when I decided it might be better to ask the question first.I ran it on systemlabs and it says "fail" due to my processor but I've had it say that before and I've still ran stuff brilliantly, so any help would be appreciated.Specs as follows, if I miss anything just let me know and I'll amend it, thanks in advance everyone.CPU: 2.0 ghz AMD 64x2 dualcore 3800+2.2gb RamNVIDIA GeForce 8600 (1.5gb ram)more than enough disk space etc etc etcIf after this huge wait I cant run it I'll be freakin super disappointed, but theres nothing I can do I guess so if anyone could let me know whether itll actually run well before I purchase the Arma II, id really appreciate it. Thanks.

Classified64 (DayZ) 1 Posted August 21, 2012 will probably lag alot making it not worth it..I'm running with 4gb ram, gtx 320 & intel i3 540. Lowest settings & 1440x960 is what I have to use to play with 30-40 fps.

Thanks.Sadly, I think it will be a laggy mess for you pal. I run it on an Intel Core 2 Extreme (2.93ghz) / Radeon 6870 and for the most part it runs well, Less so in groups. OrLoK 16187 Posted August 21, 2012 Hello thereEasiest thing to do is download arma2free and see how your system copes with that. That will give you a reasonable real life guide as to how well it will run in actuallity.Just remember a2Free uses low res textures, which in A2 will be more of a strain on your system.Good luckRgdsLoK
JarethJams 87 Posted August 22, 2012 just buy a better cpu

slaace 5 Posted August 22, 2012 My motherboard went. This comp is rather old and it was a bitch to find a compatible replacement, finally took it in friday and got it back yesterday for around £220. Couldnt afford a new rig so just happy that I finally have this back lol
[ZD] Insertcoins 46 Posted August 22, 2012 Why not just buy a replacement MB and be done with it?
Bobcomss 189 Posted August 22, 2012 My motherboard went. This comp is rather old and it was a bitch to find a compatible replacement, finally took it in friday and got it back yesterday for around £220. Couldnt afford a new rig so just happy that I finally have this back lolOuch you could of bought a fairly decent cpu for half that and put another £200 towards a decent graphics card... :( feel for you dude!!You need a full upgrade though!Look at a Nivdea 560TiA quad core processor i5 or i7New Mother board (look for something like Asus rampage 2/3 or 4 I have a Rampage 2...4gb Ram min...6 is enough for any game at the momentAJ
Zeppa 562 Posted August 22, 2012 (edited) 220£ sounds ripoff for new mobo replacement job for that kind of pc... for that price you could have found like 2x better used one I think with less waiting..And you could get new mobo, cpu and ram with around 300£.. something from the AMD FX line (quad core)(~130€), with 4-8gigs(~50€) ddr3 and m5a99x evo from asus (~110€) (together these are around 230£). With that you could have used your old stuff for the moment, when getting more money to spend just upgrade GPU and maybe PSU if the old one is poor prand and too low wattage.NOTE: Prices are "from" finlandLooking at your specs they are low, so low ram and cpu will make you strugle. This game seems to be much harder for CPU than GPU...Im running phenom II 955 @3.2ghz(quad), m5a99x evo(for FX), 4gigs 1600mhz ddr3, hd 6950 2gigs, 500W psu. Getting ok fps around avarage of 45.. I would say... at heavy load can dip to 30s and when running around in woods its steady 60 (vsync)My ram and cpu are more than 3 years old, next upgrade would be cpu and more ram.ps. Anyone can assemble pc and make a huge save on money... Edited August 22, 2012 by Zeppa
