Errythings gone, what now ?

Hello fellow survivors and sorry for my bad english sometimes :)

Yesterday, me and my brother filled our tent with some food, medicine n stuff, nothing rly of value for ME. We also found a Motorcycle, which i rode down to our tent like mad with low fuel while my brother was chased by some zeds screaming where the fuk to go (it was night, we always play at night).

So as my fuel ran out and the bike stopped, i ran down to our base to get some jerry cans to refuel it. Later, i drove it back to our tent, saved teh bike and the tent, then we logged out (was like 11:30 pm).

Today, i checked twice: In the morning and at ca. 12:15 four our tent n bike, still there. One hour ago i logged in and realized in shock: The tent and the Bike are gone! The server restartet twice this day and obviously ate our assets....

I dont know what to do now. I would surely search for another tent and vehicle, but im not sure bout my brother if he keeps his motivations after this. Also, what if we gather the things again and they vanish a second time? What else could we do to keep up our motivatons, especially his?

Nothing is saving in the latest patch version, I packed a tent too.. lost range finders, l85, nvgs, etc an atv, motorbike and bicycle before I realized.

Rule #1: Don't go on top of buildings in Cherno or Electro.

Rule #2: Don't get attached to your gear.

Rule #3: Respect the Dew.

Rule #2 is especially important here. If you don't lose it to zombies, players, or the environment then you'll lose it to bugs or hackers. That's just how the game is. Maybe set yourself a goal to find another bike and make use of it before it disappears.

Sometimes losing it all is a good thing. I've recently lost everything, and had a great time running around Cherno gearing up before heading north.

In the north you go to Stary Sobor (like 15 military tents with great weapons and supplies. After that you head to the International Airport just North of Stary Sobor, go to the barracks (google search) and find some completely amazing weapons such as M107 sniper, M4 ACOG (or is it M16?) etc.. then you go looking in open fields for Helicopter Crash sites where you can find THE most amazing weapons in the game.

They usually lay rather hidden in the grass, but just sway your cross hair untill you see the icon change while you move around the chopper.

But be careful, chances that someone else has seen it from a distance is pretty big, so be quick about it, or be dead :-)

Plus the north is where clans stash all their vehicles, so with some patience and a lot of searching, you can find another ride without even having to repair it. All my past vehicles (2 motorcycles, 4 ATVs, hatchback, Ural truck) were all stolen.

As a side note, Stary Sobor and Airport barracks are the hottest static spots of the game, be careful you are probably not alone.

Heli sites spawn at random places in open fields so a bit more safe, but extremely dangerous as well.

Good times in DayZ :) Last night my friends and I repaired a V3S looted m14, fal nv, nvgs, rangefinders, mk 48s, m14, l85 ect... we setup a tent assuming it would eat everything, saved our V3S assuming it would disappear with everything. Woke up to find the V3S still there, but it indeed did eat everything. Atleast I have a V3S to drive around and loot stuff again. I never have vehicles last more than a day or two before disappearing. It's just part of the game atm, it is very buggy.

Until they fix that tent thing, people will have to deal with permadeath. I don't know how long that'll last, but if it makes you feel better most people used to experience permadeath every single time they died. Somehow they kept playing.

yes, please fix the tents and the beach respawn. I've changed my playstyle because of those 2 problems. Now I just go to cherno/elektro get myself a lee enfield and shoot noobs running around the city. whereas I would like to explore the north, place tents and store my stuff. things like that.

Me and my group of friends have a large base off map. It consists of 3 ATVs, The Ural, The V3S, One Bus, both motorcycles, The UAZ, The Huey Helicopter, 2 tractors, and both white offroads. All of them of filled with very valuable shit. And all that shit thats stored in them is infinite because of the saving glitch. Needless to say, if you're willing to sacrifice a lot of time off-map in a well populated server, you can sometimes get lucky enough to find these bases. The only time our bases have been found is from ESP hackers, teleporters, etc. So it can be tricky if you don't cheat.
