I've dealt with this since 2 months ago. Get over it. This is the way the game works. There is no end game, no way of keeping your loot, and there is no reason to complain and say that this is the #1 priority.

True but I could have sworn there were a couple rules people should be remembering. Something about not getting attached to their gear. Besides, tents are jacked up to begin with and dupers love them. I hope they solve this issue in the next patch and then wipe the database and force everyone to start over. At least it'll only be hacked shit ruining the game and not the average joe that feigns surprise when his gear magically respawns in his tent.

You won't. At least not in the mod. Duping, alt f4 and hacking will never be "fixed" here. The mod will most likely never be "finished" either.

So my statement still stands: If you can't cope with it being an alpha wait for the stand alone.

I used to have a bus to store items. I had 1 GAZ, 1 bus and one fast boat. Everything disappeared on Thursday night for good.

I think that there's no point to get mad at it. Shit happens and we can't attach to our loot.

But you can't play the right, fixed, smooth finished game because it doesn't exist. Yes "it's an Alpha" excuse is getting old, how about a new one, "This isn't a game yet!"

The problem with DayZ is that it's too good, and when dumb shot stops you from enjoying it makes it all the worse, if DayZ was crap no one would give a rats arse (even the hackers!)

But like all things in life, you have to be prepared to wait for the good things.

I feel your pain but the game will be right, fixed, smooth and finished but you may have to wait 6 months yet.

I understand storing busses and even cars if u play with friends at a camp and u move together. Bikes and Motorcycles/atvs should be left to despawn and let new people along the coast grab them as needed.....

Stop complaining about losing gear. Its part of being in ALPHA! Do I need to have you read SDLC for ALPHA stage in development? You must not TEST many games to know the #1 Rule of testing. NEVER GET ATTACHED TO ANYTHING WHEN IN ALPHA OR BETA STAGE! You should expect to be starting over every single day because MANY of us did for 4.5months until around 1.7.x patches. SO STFU and get used to it.

Also its a MOD of ARMA2. ARMA2 engine has LIMITATIONS that DayZ Mod might not be able to fix. If that is the case NOTHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT. This is probably a main reason why standalone got the greenlight so early because they came to that realization, not because of how popular it came. Please people use some common sense sheesh and stop bitchin so much.

This is true if and only if the bandit who shot you did not hide/camp your body. This is true if and only if you have a full set of replacement gear in the tent/car. This is true if and only if you manage to make it back to your camp. This is true if and only if no one has found your camp in the time it takes you to respawn and get to your camp (or while you were out away from your camp in the first place).

Not being able to set up a camp that works takes away from the experience. I started on a new server recently, ended up giving away a L85 not because I didn't want it but because I didn't have space to keep it around, and with tents not saving its not like I could store it for when I had ammo for it or I needed it for something. As is I hate that I'm carrying around a SVD and M14 AIM. I use the SVD during the day and the M14 at night as the SVD can't be used with NV or I'd just use that. I'd much rather feel safe keeping it in my tent and swapping out when needed.

And lets assume I die here my camp is minimally 10 kliks away from the coast and I know of at least two other player camps between coast spawns and mine and traveling the safe route from the coast is at least another 5 kliks on top of that because of all the meandering around to less traveled areas. Not quite what I'd call a quick or easy trip. So yes I'd get to regear, assuming I got off the coast. Assuming I didn't get lost. Assuming I don't get killed along the way. Assuming no one finds my camp between when I die and when I actually manage to make it from one end of the map to the other. Assuming I manage to find enough supplies along the way not to starve/die of thirst (several times I've made it off the coast without a hatchet, hunting knife, or matches being found despite raiding everything possible. Had the worst streak of luck with that on the server I'm on now where the last time I respawned it took me 3 major towns, and 3 small towns before i finally found a hunting knife).

Now sure, some people will have camps closer to the coast, that are easier to get to and less dangerous to get to. But when you make blanket statements like that...

I think it actually makes the game LESS fun

I think the lack of being able to set up a sustainable base to survive the apocalypse at makes the game less fun.
