I have no problem with a version of Dayz for the console if, and only if, it in no way effects the pc version. The problem with battlefield 3 is that the console and pc versions were developed in conjunction with each other in order to save money. This means that in many respects the console did drag down the development of the pc version (map sizes, communications, graphic to some extent, usability, modability, etc). This punishes the pc owner.

Put it on consoles but use separate teams from the beginning.

You also forgot to mention that console games are at least twice as expensive as PC games and you don't have to pay for any services like XBL or PS+ (although PS+ is optional), which actually makes PC gaming much cheaper in the long run ^_^

Also, mouse > controller. It's not an opinion, it's a fact, so deal with it. I own PS3 and some other consoles including handhelds - I love them all and play the shit outta them, but FPS genre just don't belong to the consoles, unless it's dumbed down like hell.

dude... it is a opinion, i play some PC games with a Xbox controller (Arma 2 included, and yes, its possible, but you just got to rely on your keyboard for some things such as commanding your squad) and i play just as good as most players (i even aim as good most cases) while i have trouble playing with the mouse + keyboard. so basically, its all in preference, i can probably kick butt with my 15 button controller just as good as you can your keyboard + mouse

as for capability, i do have to agree, the consoles cant really run some games without watering them down so they their processors can take the heat

not sure if it would be the same on console, since tents, vehicles, etc are tied to the server, which means that DayZ needs dedicated servers instead of the way most console games work (the server only lasts until the one who started it stops playing on it). plus, DayZ is meant for 50 players per server, consoles can't handle that

plus the keyboard makes it easy to have many controls, keybinds etc

i heard the stand alone will not have chernarus on any verson pc or console

it will. Chernarus is probably going to be different from the mod version, but it will be there

this. Skyrim's UI is stupid on the pc since it is developed for controllers, we don't need a repeat of that.

i think rocket stated that it (standalone) wil go to PC first, and if it sells really well, they'll consider releasing it on consoles.

and pc's are better, its fact, we get more hardware better graphics better physics better everything, consoles stay the same crap as they were made, they cant get better graphics or anything so its limmited, pc will always be better cause its fact :D

I'm just going to add to this quote. I use my HD TV as my PC monitor. Computers aren't just limited to desktop monitors. In fact, most newer TVs come from the factory with tower/laptop hookups, and a PC output on the remote.

PC Crashes more?Haha maybe if you mess up with the files, Bf3 crashed only about 7x times on my pc ( I played it 300 hours so far!), when I play it on the xbox, it happens that it crashes alot.

You dont have to pay thousands of dollars for a gaming pc, I spend 700€ for mine, and I run Bf3 on ultra settings with no lags.

If you knew anything about the "Real Virtuality 3" engine and what its capable of and the amount of RAM, graphics, and CPU usage it takes to make viable I dont think you would even consider posting this suggestion.

No console can currently handle the 200+ square kilometer map of Chernarus. I have a difficult time seeing this game become a reality for the Xbox 720 and the thought of it being on the 360 is quite laughable. Sorry to be a dick, but for real, its impossible on current systems.

Why would you care if the game ends up on consoles? Rocket has already stated that he has had meetings about a console port, and it might happen if the standalone sells well on the PC. If it sucks on consoles, what does that matter for you? Its not gonna ruin the PC version if it releases on consoles, as long as it releases on PC first, which it is. If you dont want the standalone on consoles, then dont buy it on PC. Just dont be a douche-bag to console players. Let them play what they want to, while we play what we want to. If they are making it for consoles too, that means they will have to make comprises by putting it on a subpar system. Unless the console version is going to be different version than the PC version. But most likely it will just be a port.

Can't be that hard to understand. Have a look at Deus Ex vs Deus Ex 2 and HR, have a look at Morrowind vs Oblivion and Skyrim, have a look at supreme commander vs supreme commander 2. 3 Great franchise ruined (Oblivion was still passable) by being dumbed down to fit on a console too.

Now understand, I DO NOT CARE IF YOU LIKE TO PLAY ON CONSOLES. I care about having the best possible game, and having it on console will with a 95% certainty prevent that.

Oi mate, I have a NES and had all the Playstations. Do not confuse a gamer who wants the best possible game for the best possible platform for said game, for a "elitist PC gamer".

But since DayZ isn't a 3'rd person cover-shooter, racing game, fighting game or waggle stick game. Keeping a console version in mind while making it, will not result in the best possible game.

FFS how hard is it to understand?
