Crashed chopper

I have played so much Day Z... And I still haven't found a crashed chopper... I just need to find one... Just one.. How many spawn per server?

have you looked at the maps with them marked? i usually find them near the castle as there are multiple spots for them nearby. the spawn site is a pre determined location and i think a random chance of them spawning

I find them all the time, literally just go to NW airfield and run south looking in the fields each restart and you will probably find a few of them. I've seen five on one server at once. That map posted above is pretty lacking, here is a much better one.

tried and tested, its just sucks. not only that but any loot on the chopper is blown to smithereens, (whet ever a smithereen is).

nice map, i know the one i posted is lame but its also early in the morning and ive not had my coffee yet :P

They spawn randomly around open fields...no pre-determined locations. I've found them at airfields before, but those are usually camped by snipers. Stary is usually an area where there's lots around, but again, beware of snipers.

Those maps are player assembled from where they've found choppers so far. ofc there's an offchance that you may have stumbled upon a downed chopper that isn't yet registered on the map.

OR you suck at reading a map ^_^

It's quite boring to know where they spawn, if they were that random why did someone bother to create a loot map for helicrashes? You just have to be lucky enough to have one there if you show up. I hope Rocket changes the spawn system to a more random setting.

We always found three heli crashes btw.

Hot tip: There are also a number of vehcile spawns not on dayzdb etc, I've found two atv spawns and a tractor not on any map, much higher chance they haven't been taken :)

Actually just found my first!

I was running to Gorka, coming up from the South after a looting run/zombie massacre at Berezino. I was ambling along on the treeline heading north when I see what looks like a building or a vehicle in the distance. Get closer, see 9 or 10 military zombies, and a crashed chopper! Lured the zombies into the forest and lost them in the trees, then looted it. Had to choose between FN FAL iron sighted with one mag, or Bizon PP-19 SD with two mags. Chose the Bizon because I need the quietness to stealth those zeds. Pretty good replacement for a Winchester 1866 wouldn't you say? Looted it and got the hell out of there.
