Coast Spawning Bug

Recommended Posts

So part of the reason I'm making this post is because I'm confused as to why I now randomly spawn on the coast whenever I rejoin DayZ with my same character. Another part of the reason is that I'm currently STUCK on a loading screen, and I've heard in passing that the cause is when you altf4 on a black loading screen that is the cause of the game spawning you on the coast. Basically the game starts you off in the debug plains or forest before it puts you back where you logged out and when you quit on the loading screen instead of putting you in the debug plains or forest it puts you on the coast. I guess this is kinda of a QQ post but I'm more trying to understand why this was changed. I have never spawned in the debug plains or forest before, at least in the month I've been playing DayZ, so now this coast spawning is just another thing on top of the artifacting which was never actually fixed.

Is this really the cause of this? Was the debug spawning really that widespread that it needed a fix? And does anyone out there have some kind of fix or workaround for this? Or am I just going to have to deal with it for the time being?

It kinda of ruins the team play aspect so I think it needs to be addressed quickly. Server is still loading... Too scared to quit...

I am having the exact same problem. I logged off near NE airfield perfectly fine, no injuries, concussions or such. Now i ended up spawning at Elektro, which makes no sense. I hope they fix this soon!

Likewise problem here, stuck on loading screen and spawning on coast when I get through after several times of forcing down the client.

1 word , Dayzcommander , i was using six , tried updating manually (torrents) , nothing worked. Installed Dayzcommander , it still said i had older version...So i updated through it everything works like a charm, never had a problem since , also make sure you X everything in filter , it helps.

guys, I've logged onto like 30 servers in a row without this happening by aborting the game normally. however, when I get stuck at the loading screen it happens because I use ctrl+alt+del.

but there is a way around this. try alt tabbing and run another instance of yhe game. once you connect, then delete the one stuck at loading. it worked for me last night.

Install DayZ-Commander. Go to "versions" on the upper right. Update. Enjoy!

Don't Alt-F4 or try to server hop!

^This. This seems to work. If the secondary one gets stuck on loading, try opening a third, rinse and repeat and you should spawn where you last logged out.

If you have updated to 1.7.2.5 and attempt to join a server running 1.7.2.4 it will freeze at loading forcing you to close it down once this happens you will spawn at the shore. Make sure to verify the dayz version on the server you are joining to prevent this from happening.

I haven't had this issue since I started paying closer attention. Hope this helps.

On a side note if you have updated to 1.7.2.5 manually or from dayz commander and then launch through six launcher it will revert back to 1.7.2.4 (not sure if they fixed that yet if they have feel free to correct my findings) so I would actually be careful how I launch the game.

if you experience this problem, ALT-TAB and open DayZ commander. Join other server. At this time it will ask you to close the previous one or not, choose no. When you can play on the other server, ALT-TAB again and open task manager. Close the Arma II application.(There should be two. Close the one with less memory). ALT-TAB back to the game and play.
