I agree with everything but "MLP is a great show". I would have to put a caveat to that, "MLP is a great show, if you are a little girl".

I am a big fan of the show and I like it because of so many different things. I make sure I watch every new episode as soon as it's released.

This does not mean that MLP is trying to start a new world where everyone is so fucking happy all the time and war doesn't exist.

It still has ponies but the show has been completely revamped. I cant watch 3 minutes of any older generations of MLP but the new one is great.

I would like to say that all communities have large amounts of bronies, take battlefield, valve/steam and world of tanks communities.. I am sure those gaming communities that dont seem to have alot of bronies is because they fear to open themselves.

My whole point is that when you do something that is outside of what is socially acceptable, and then you tell society about that you can't be mad and cry foul when society judges you for it. Of course people are going to defend themselves if other people call them pussies for watching MLP.

But it all depends on the situation. When I told my friend I watched MLP, he reacted like any normal person would and asked me if I fell on my head.

After convincing him that it's not the same show of 10 years ago and he should really watch an episode, it turned out he liked it too.

But here's the thing, it's different when you tell your friends.

And the flamboyant bronies think everyone is their friend, thus always trying to convince people that it's more "manly" then they think.

I think there are so many bronies here because they are the same demographic as Dayz. Late teen/early adults who are heterosexual are very common both here and the brony community. Since this data is separate to each other, you are incredibly likely to get an overlap between the 2 communities.

Now, bronies are people who use the internet quite often (otherwise how would they find out about the show?). Also, Dayz is only really advertised deep in the internet too (It's not a real mainstream game like Mass Effect or CoD). Using logic, these two facts can be joined to say bronies are more likely to find out about Dayz meaning they will be more prominent in these official forums

Give it time. Like all fads it'll soon be replaced by another. Until then try not to give them the attention they crave, and try not to be hostile toward them as it only serves to makes them feel validated.
