How do you normally die?

Recommended Posts

I die mostly from ganks. Zombies are almost entirely a non-threat. Hackers don't show up on my servers, luckily, and if they do, I alt-F4 on the spot.

There's nothin I can do though when Mr Bush-with-rifle pops up ten feet away from me and unloads a 30 round stanag clip into my chest.

I avoid high-pop servers because I got killed a bunch by hackers.

But that just means I don't see any other players.

Without any distractions zombies are easy to avoid.

Honestly, I just don't die very often anymore. And somehow, it sucks.

Exactly this. I really only play on servers that typically have 10-15 players during peaks to avoid hackers. But with this, you really never see anyone, so you become a bit spoiled and lose the thrill and intense situations DayZ is known for. The game becomes easy-mode, and it ruins the fun.

So there's a dilemma,

A. play on high population servers where your blood will be pumpin, but have a good chance of running into hackers.. or

B. play on low population servers where you know you're safe from hacks/scripts, yet you never see anyone and lose the thrill of DayZ

first world problems?

I have only died from a bug once, a stair killed me dead, dunno what happenened. But other then that, its really hackers mostly that kills me.. because you really dont have much of a chance against that. Sometimes i get shot by another survivor or something, or even get killed by zombies. but most of the time i survive the bigger encounters with players or zombies, but have a broken leg or something. and thats farely easy to fix.

Die more because of my mistakes than from hackers. Reason being I try to play aggressively yet fail and fuck up sometimes (not very much but it happens) when against the majority when I'm in the minority of players.

Totally agree. I usually stick to low population servers though, rather die of boredom than by a hacker. But since zombies are basically never a threat I only ever die when I am taken completely and utterly by surprise. On those rare occasions I'll usually spawn into a high population server and have some fun with my new very expendable character. Last time I was going for axe murders only and had some pretty exciting pvp. That's how I keep the thrill of Dayz alive: in between my serious characters.
