Which is best? MK48, FN Fal, M4A1 CCO SD, or M16A4 ACOG?

MK48 has the same amount of damage as an FN fal, just a higher rate of fire, better sight, and more ammo per clip/more easily found ammo

The M4 has the same amount of damage as the M16 ACOG. And it is silent for zed encounters... And why would you want an M16 acog in place of a MK48? Mk48 has better damage and range, and there is almost no bullet drop even up to 600 meters.

M16 Acog and M4A1 CCO SD. Mk 48 is a powerful gun with a high rate of fire, but carrying it and the CCO SD is pointless. The M16 offers extended range which will come in very handy if you ever find yourself in a firefight.

the CCO SD is great for zombies not so great for pvp. M16 Acog with SD ammo is great for both, you should be able to switch the optics to the iron sights at the top by pressing / on numpad but it doesnt work for me. So be careful at close ranges. Burst fire works a treat. If your a sniper and have an as50 then the acog is awesome for mid range work and spotting people/zombies.

at the moment i have a cco sd and an m240 because im not sniping.

There were 6 FN Fal magazines on the body with the FN Fal. 2 were right by a rock next to each other (one with alice backpack, one with starter). The one with the starter backpack had the FN Fal with magazines and the MK48. The 3rd is near the road northwest of the 2 bodies and had the ACOG on it.

Maroite... The FN FAL fires the same round as the Mk48, aka doing the same amount of damage. The MK48 has a faster rate of fire/better range/better sight.

It is indeed a good gun, it is merely outclassed by the 48.

I'd go with the fal. I played regular arma 2 and I got abnormally good with iron sights, like being able to shoot out tires on humvees driving full speed on roads with a iron sighted rifle. I don't like red dot sights or scopes because they have extremely negative drawbacks at close range. I've always been able to easily kill people 500 meters with iron sights calculating distance and bullet drop in one shot. Also they don't cover your vision as much and put huge blind spots when iron sighting.

So fal for me.

Same with rifle grenades. I had someone call me a hacker once for m203ing someone running through a field like 250 meters away.

Well I'm not a sniper in any game I play. I get too paranoid and constantly have to turn around to watch my back. I watch videos of people sneaking up on snipers and cringe at how easily they die >_> I just can't do it.

The M16A4 Acog was getting on my nerves to be honest. I had to rely on servers with the crosshair in order to kill anything close to me. Right clicking made it impossible to take out something < 50 yards away. I would take out my MK48 and shoot something but it was so loud every zombie for a hundred miles would come running my way. I prefer a stealth approach in this game where I crouch walk in towns and take zombies out with my G17 which is so quiet it never alerts any zombies and it's a 1 shot kill in the head. So the M4 really works out for me since it's so dang quiet.

I guess the MK48 will be useful for when I want to PVP but it's really pretty worthless against zombies because of how freaking loud it is. I really need to find a tent and put it out somewhere and put all my junk in it and run into Cherno or Elektro with the MK48 and just go rambo style on people.

Fals blow, the M16 is okay but compared to the MK.48 it's nothing, and then the SD is going to be useful when killing Zeds as the MK.48 attracts so many.

From my point of view I'd choose the Mk48 and m16.

I, however, play in a small group of people. So what I use may differ from a solo player. The Mk48 combination of firepower and tracers is amazing in firefights, it allows you to suppress the shit out of targets while your teammates move in/flank. The tracers are a blast for quick target locating for the rest of your squad. The second one is a toss up for most people, the FN-FAL is second only to the m14 as a player kill weapon for a nonsniper. I'd prefer the m16 due to the optics and abundances of ammunition.

However I play in a team, the noise I create from killing a zombie (or 20) doesn't matter as I usually have a team and a sniper watching my back.

Edit: Maybe it's just me, but is the mk48 just terrible for combat where you have to move? The ability to put several rounds into someone back to back is extremely hard with it in my opinion. I could just suck though.

I have experience with every single weapon in Dayz and by far and away, the M16 ACOG is my favorite. Effective range up to 800m and even better at closer ranges. For extremely close ranges, has anyone ever heard of a sidearm? There is a reason that you have a pistol in Dayz... Plus, for zeds, just throw in some SD magazines and everything is gravy.

I am willing to trade an AS50, or an L85A2 AWS for an M16 ACOG. If anyone has one that they would like to trade, PM me.

Personaly I would choose Mk48 and M16A4 Acog

mk48 has a nice rate of fire and with its Sight a good 3/400 meter ranged weapon and a large clip for pvp engagement.

the m16 Acog has a telescopic sight and a good mid/long ranged weapon accurate upto 800 meters that in the right situation can be a good counter to a sniper getting too close.

Both weapons are common mag types unlike the FN Fal which you might struggle to find ammo for and the M4A1 in my opinion isnt really worth it when your lacking range/ accuracey and the mags are a little more rare then standard stanag
