Anti-server Hop Technology?

My main server has not worked since the patch, so I've been shopping around in case it doesn't come back. It seems like whenever I change servers I'm back down at the beach. Is this part of a new thing to keep people from skipping between realities to gain advantage? If it is that's cool, I just want to know if it's a bug or somehow intended.

That is some kind of bug. I'm changing server every time I decide to play and I always spawn where I logged out.
