7th Day and still no cars on my server.

Let me tell you a story about a 30 year old kid that wanted to host a dayz server-

I was playing dayz and thought to myself what a cool idea. This game is awesome. I would like my own server.

After researching for DAYZ :) I found that the servers in my home would not have enough bandwidth so I would have to purchased a managed server.

So off I went, I went to a site called VIlayer, They were nothing but rude and could not get my server up after 3 days so I got a full refund.

I then went to a site called Defcon servers. They have been okay for now. They seem to respond to tickets rather quickly. Only issue is keeping the server up.

Now it was time to have some fun. I had a new server and friends to play on it with me.

We started off getting all our supplies and trying to find a vehicle. Never found one.

After a couple days we started to get worried and I put a ticket in with Defcon. They explained that there was nothing they could do. Only Dayz staff could help.

So I did a little research and found that if I had an ID above 6000 it could take up to 7 days to get vehicles. Man that sucks I thought to myself.

So to confirm I put a ticket in with Dayz Staff.

Please help. I really want to be able to get a car like on other servers.

Hi Dustin,

Your instance ID was submitted on 08.07.12. It was probably approved that day or shortly after. It has not been 7 days.

Thank you for the info Jonathan.

I must have been confused cause they had to give me a second ID cause the first one glitched out to say US 405 I think.

So you are saying the cars should be on the server on Day 7?

Is there anything that can be done to expedite this?

Reboot more, Pray to the Dayz gods, Donate?

Thank you for any information you have that can help me get the server going.

Hi Dustin,

Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done to expedite the service. Vehicles SHOULD be on your server by day 7.

How will I know when to start looking vs when to give up?

Does a reboot need to be done once the cars do show up? Or will they just appear in front of me at some point?

Is it possible that they could show up today? Or is it 7 days no matter what?

Hi Dustin,

A reboot will be required. As for when/if/etc., I can't comment on that, only that vehicles should be on your server by day 7.

After this ticket I was hopeful. So I got all my stuff together. DMR, Silenced bison, GPS, night vision , etc.

Then I saw a helicopter on my server. I though to myself WOO HOO vehicles! Then we all died and lost all our stuff.. Everyone on the server died all at once because of a hacker.. AWESOME!! (Sarcasm)

So now I'm back to square one.. No items, no vehicles, No money cause I bought this stupid server.

So I awaited day 7 for vehicles and some small amount of hope that I could have fun on this server.

STILL NO VEHICLES. So I decided to put a support ticket in with Dayz again and see what was going on.

There has been no vehicle spawns on my server since I ordered it. (aside from hackers spawning heli's and jets)

As was told to you in your other ticket "Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done to expedite the service. Vehicles SHOULD be on your server by day 7."

You will get your vehicles as soon as possible, more tickets will not help.

Let me start by saying I have been nothing but nice to you guys.

This is the second ticket I have put in on an issue that has lasted 7 days.

I was not trying to annoy you but just solve a problem.

You say I will get my vehicles as soon as possible. I am curious why a hacker can put cars and heli's on my server but you are unable to?

Can you expand on SHOULD? Are you saying cars may never show up? If that is the case what is the point?

can you at least act like you care even a little bit?

I find your customer service skills to be upsetting.

Again my only goal is to be able to play Dayz on my server with cars included.

I am not asking for anything out of the ordinary.

At this time we are encountering some problems with vehicles spawning on new servers. We are working diligently to correct this problem and your patience is appreciated. I understand not having vehicles on your server is extremely frustrating but please know we are aware of this issue and are working on a solution.

After this I was a little upset. I could not believe after all this that the Dayz staff I was bending over backward to be nice to was going to be rude to me because they have an issue with the game.

So now here I am, Sitting waiting for Defcon server to get my server back up so I can go to the quarry and be sad cause there are no vehicles on the server.

That is the sad story of a 30 year old kid and his very own Dayz server.

I run on foot most of the time. Driving a vehicle is just a pain in the ass most of the time. You're just asking to be killed and the maintenance sucks. I understand it's frustrating either way but it doesn't ruin the game or render the server useless while they're fixing it...

Johnathan is just about the most useless Staff/Support member ever. After over a week of back and forths with him troubleshooting an issue with logins he basically calls my friend a lier saying he never did the install right ect. This goes on over skype for about 1 1/2 hours. Finally comes to see that we had been correct all along and that a character reset (what we had been asking for) was needed. Spent over a week dealing with this asshat telling my friend to reinstall the game 5 different times because he knew for a fact that it was a client not a hive issue only to find out that what we actually knew what what we were talking about and knew what the problem in fact was, but he thought he knew better, turns out also he didnt even know about hive data corruption. WTF this guy is worthless IMHO. oh and he finally aggrees that a character reset for my friend was needed and said it could take up to 24 hours to have that done... well guess what, that was over 72 hours ago and still no reset, so my friend is stuck unable to log into normal hive servers. What a moron.

also always possible while you weren't on the server someone came and took the vehicle you were waiting on and has saved it out in the woods on the edge of the map somewhere... vehicles aren't guaranteed to spawn on time either

I had already closed the previous ticket because I know how annoying it can be to have tickets open when working support.

I was however happy with the response that Jonathan left me. It was very to the point and professional.

I agree with you its a free mod and that is awesome. Really I just want to have vehicles on my server. I guess my expectations are too high.

Do you have vehicles on your server? Can I play on it? Anyone want a free server for the remainder of the month? SOrry but there are no vehicles on it:)

As for the 7 days, they probably have some sort of weekly scheduled task on the hive related to vehicles.

I agree, with as many tickets they keep getting I'm sure it is frustrating to have me open a 2nd ticket.

What I should have done was kept the first ticket open and just been able to put a reply in.

I was trying to be nice as I work in support and its annoying to have open tickets to questions that have been answered.

Now my second ticket I put in was on Day 7 when I SHOULD get my vehicles. That is why I waited until then to put the second ticket in.

As a 30 year old child adult you should know how to be patient. Vehicles were said to arrive at day 7 in the first place and you started to whine earlier about it while the customer support was actually very clear about the subject. Now it appears that there also is a problem with syncing the new servers and vehicles to the hive, but you should prepare or at least expect problems with an ALPHA STATUS MODIFICATION.

You're server is about as unique as sand on a beach: be glad that the support team spent so much time in your two pointless tickets in the first place and just await until vehicles get added to your server, nothing will help accelerating this.

Well its past Day 7 and still no vehicles so you are right both of my tickets were pointless.

I did not know the issue was so widespread before posting to the devs.

The part that annoys me so much is where a hacker can come in at any time and have a vehicle.. but the Devs can't make it work???

I am being patient.. I have pretty much given up at this point to be honest.. if it comes it comes.

I am just happy I don't have to waste time looking for cars cause I know they are not there.

Again I am happy that Dayz was created. I respect the Devs and think highly of them. Aside from (Mason) I did not find my 2 tickets to be inpatient.

Yea. How dare you pay good money to support a community that doesn't appretiate you. WTF were you thinking.. The mod was obviously free, but come on guys are we going to keep ignoring server admins and saying "f them" we don't need them.. I mean if there weren't 4k server to play on how would you been running from hakers right now. All the guy wanted to know was something from the devs.. maybe even a time line on when the patch would take place.. Server admin means nothing in this game.. they might as well throw there money into stocks for RIM-Blackberry.

BTW HFB hosting does a good job of support.
