Rocket wants the community to decide what its willing to pay so lets decide right now!

Rocket has given us an excellent game so far, but soon we're going to have to pay for it. Rocket has said that he would like to charge 10-15 euro for the standalone while it is in alpha.

Some people just don't understand that DayZ started as a mod for Arma 2. It doesn't matter the majority of us bought it for DayZ alone. We are not entitled to shit because of it. Get rid of that childish mentality and grow up, possibly get a job as well.

I'd pay up to 60 EUR for the standalone.

As for me, i would pay 40 US dollars or anything under that for the standalone product. I will pay as much as Rocket needs the consumer to pay in order for him to make DayZ the BEST game it is capable of being. What do you guys think?

So rocket:

Given the strength of the vision thus far...

$40 for the alpha, $60 for beta, $70 for a finished product.

Yes, those number make sense to me in the vein of the Minecraft model.

NOTE: I'm just a guy that helps enforce forum rules, not on the inside as far as the future vision or the dev team.

5 Euro, since bohemia already made money of me only for a mod, and now they want my money again for the exact same thing.

I dont care if i actually didnt payed for the mod, but everyone knows that probably 95% payed for the MOD and not for the Arma2.

Id happily pay $100 up front, $30 a month and still regularly pump money into DLC. Most players in this game are cheapskates who are stuck in the old profit models for video games though. The way I see it, the more money I put into a game the more justification there is to develop it, fix bugs, add content etc.

Bought the Mount & Blade alpha key for something like $11, bought the full game also, just to be nice.

Might do something similar.

Bohemia got the money, not Rocket, up to $40 for Alpha, and $60 for finished. I'm not rolling in money, but since I had already owned Arma 2 and then got Day Z I think it's fair enough.

Sounds fair enough but its worth $0 till the hacking is sorted.

5$

I assume thats how everyone else values your work. sad

nah not really cheap ass

OT - I value how an employee of small studio took his time to develop a mod in his free time for others to enjoy and I will always support developers that doesn't sell you only shitty fookin graphics but give the game-play also some thought. Will get it for whatever price its going to end up at.

I will pay what they have decided so far. For the alpha it's going to be around 15 Euros I think. The final won't be more than 30. Why am I going to pay and play? Because it's an awesome game. Brought me back to PC from my xbox360. Well I guess actually I have to pay more for it if you count in that I need to buy a new PC. -_-

Again, personal opinion, but given the vision thus far, and relative openness.

I'd like to see what percentage is going to leak through to rocket, et al.

Essentially the details of the contract.

Sure I'd pay $70, but if 60 goes to bohemia, then, wellllllll..... I'm a judgmental *****, though.

If it's being released this year they won't be spending much time on development. I love the game but I think $15 at alpha, $20 at beta, and $30-$35 for the full release is more than fair.

hmmmmm...

To be honest?.. seeing the forum team giving all this shit and treating everyone like little piesses of shit and using the ¨this is alpha and this is rocket mod if you dont like it get out¨ i wouldnt pay anything for Dayz the way it is right now.

As stand alone with all the fixes that are to come i would pay a $9 american dollars for the stand alone. But keeping in mind that we wont be able to ask for anything or give any constructive critisims. Remember you WILL buy an alpha and when everything is broken, even when you ALREADY paid for the alpha, forum team and rocket will keep treating you like a walking wallets. and they will tell you ¨you already paid, but this is rockets game dont like it? get out of here¨ like they have been doing since dayz started to get popular. So yea.. possible a 9 and wait till its in discount on steam for 1 dollar.

Imagine this, you will get a lot of glitchs in the alpha and even when you paid for the alpha and a server for you and your friedns a hacker will join the server create 40 tents with all the weapons in the game ruining the experience in the server and they will ignore that and tlel you to get out if you dont like it. Again like they are doing right now. Be aware what you buy...

thats like saying i should only have to pay $10 for black ops 2 since treyarch already made money off of me for black ops 1

Regardless of what you think, you have to realize that you did, infact, buy ArmA 2 NOT Dayz the mod. I dont know why people cant realise that. You bought a game to play a free mod and thats the bottom line. Stop being such a cheap fuck and support what is going on here. A game created by one man, a game that everyone said couldn't be made, has garnered a player base of over 1 million with an advertising budget of zero and a Dev team of less than 5 people. And its all thanks to us, the players. Rocket has given us an incredible game for free, and the least we could do is repay him for what he's given us.

I'd pay:

No more than 30$ for alpha

35$ for beta

$50 MAX for final product

20$ MAX for DLC

I truly want DayZ to be the best game that it possibly can be and i will pay whatever is needed to make that happen. I would have donated something like 50$ if Rocket had started a kickstarter a few months ago.

P.S.

I discovered ArmA 2 because of DayZ and it is actually a fantastic little sim. Everyone who has DayZ should give it a whirl and you can be damn sure that I will be buying ArmA 3.

Cheers
