They changed up DayZ a little. You can now make weapons by putting together crowbars. Just head to the NW Airfield and find the crafting bench. Make sure to pick up as many crowbars as possible.

Is the new one better or worse haha?

I honestly don't think I can play this until SA comes out. I tried playing with my friends today but I couldn't go 10 minutes without dying by clipping through a wall and falling/some other glitch/hacking/disconnected. I joined a server and got kicked for no apparent reason (good ping and not hacking). Joined another server, got hacked and all this random shit popped up on my screen and I started dancing. I switched servers and then ten minutes later got turned into a chicken. That made me lose all my stuff and now we're just trying to recover in elektro. And I was always on servers with <15 people. I played it months ago and managed to put up with it but maybe I got lucky. I'm not gonna play it until SA comes out. I know I'm not supposed to complain because the game is still in alpha and a lot of the issues are due to the engine and the developers can't do much about. And I'm not saying it's a bad game. I just don't understand how other people put up with it. I know I've been told to check out private servers but half the fun of Dayz is running in to random players.

I quit playing DayZ in late August because I was tired of hackers/my GPU broke/started college. I finally got my GPU fixed over break and I want to start playing again, since my friends and I had such a good time playing it even with the terrible hacking. Has the hacking gotten any better? In August it could be near unplayable because hacking was rampant.

If it's being released this year they won't be spending much time on development. I love the game but I think $15 at alpha, $20 at beta, and $30-$35 for the full release is more than fair.

So is it a lot worse than just picking up a hacked weapon?

I had one for awhile and the ammo isn't too hard to find. After a few hours of playing I had 6 mags. Just loot firestations.

If they don't yell "friendly" I'm killing them right away. Most people do yell so I let them live. If they're a fresh spawn I'll try to help them out as much as I can.

I got a message in game today that said BattlEye had been updated to better prevent scripts (or something like that). Has anyone seen this message or noticed a difference?
