XOLiD 102 Posted August 13, 2012 Can't make up my mind on which of these I'd rather use.The M24 has zeroing but that sometimes messes my shots up more than helps as I know how to use mildots.DMR is semi-auto and can be used with NVG.I currently have an M24 and haven't seen a DMR in a good week now with several trips thru NW airfield and stary. alec167 62 Posted August 13, 2012 m24 personally i like bolt action it makes it feel more powerful again my opinion .
motocross 49 Posted August 13, 2012 M24, and carry dmr mags. Dmr mags turn into 4 m24 clips.
Inception. 9443 Posted August 13, 2012 DMR has 20 rounds, can fire fast as fuck, and is compatible with NVGs, as you said.I'd take it over the M24.
Priceless 154 Posted August 13, 2012 DMR has zeroing as well. During daytime go with M107 at night go with DMR
chipdemon@yahoo.com 57 Posted August 13, 2012 Considering the amount of alt+f4ing going on, it may be more beneficial to be able to put out a second shot much faster with the dmr to help ensure a kill. I'm using the m24 at the moment and i really like the gun itself, but I miss a lot of kills because I'm not great at getting headshots with my first shot past ~500m, especially with a moving target. motocross 49 Posted August 13, 2012 Also forgot to mention, if you carry the m24, its 1 shot most time and also, if you convert the ammo while you have 1 bullet or something then convert it back u get full ammo. M24, wins.

louist 163 Posted August 13, 2012 DMR has zeroing as well. During daytime go with M107 at night go with DMRI don't believe the DMR has zeroing. Picked one up last night and pressing page up/down did nothing.
Zeromentor 169 Posted August 13, 2012 (edited) DMR has 20 rounds, can fire fast as fuck, and is compatible with NVGs, as you said.I'd take it over the M24.This is a good reason, but I perfer the M24 just for zeroing.Sure, my opinion is a little biast. Took me a lot of wasted ammunition to figure out the drop, mildots and range of the DMR (I didn't look it up online, which I probably should have). If you can effectively use mildots, and don't mind not being able to zero, use the DMR. It has the unique ability to be used with NVG (night vision goggles).EDIT: Forgot to mention, which is common sense for most people but not all, they both use .308 (7.62x51mm NATO) which does 8k per round with a high chance to knock targets down. Headshots as always are instakills. Edited August 13, 2012 by Zeromentor
Allyourbase51 38 Posted August 13, 2012 DMR has zeroing as well. During daytime go with M107 at night go with DMRThe DMR has mildots, but it's not zeroable with pageup/pagedown. See here for a fairly comprehensive list of mildot zeroings for this gun, as compiled by the DayZDB
Hetstaine 10852 Posted August 13, 2012 DMR, nvgs, nice smooth zoom, easy to use mildots with a bit of practice.

pepe.lp 0 Posted August 13, 2012 For my dollar i would have to say the DMR and this is why a couple of nights ago me and the boys were leaving NW airfield and i looked into the fields as you head towards berizino and saw two what i thought was zombies. Surprised I was when those two zombies opened up on us with a 107 and a 24 flipped out my DMR and because it ws night i could still see them in my scope as my NVG's still worked.. win to the good guys....why they had issues with NVG action and also because theyobviously got over excited they were shooting at targets that were 200 metres away with a rifle that auto defaults to zero at 400 rounds over head... sorrypoint is one of them was a hacker and as he took his dying breath he killed every person on the server
chipdemon@yahoo.com 57 Posted August 13, 2012 1 hit, knock out. Pretty much means you're dead.1 hit, logs out, friend patches them up in another server and they carry on. Not picking at you here, just seen it happen too much recently.

The Sad Panda 113 Posted August 13, 2012 If you're playing solo, M24 for the precision, and if you're already setup in the area before an engagement, you can get the distances to landmarks in the area and adjust your zeroing to match (ie, broken car is 200m, red house is at 400m, ect.). Not that I support lone wolf sniping or anything, but looking at it in as an unbiased issue, the M24 is the clear winner. For group play though, I'd use the DMR. the mil-dots provide a good guestimation tool so the pre-fight preparations aren't that extensive, and the fact that it's automatic means that you can give better cover to your team-mates. Sometimes even the sound of the quick successive shots is enough to deter enemies away from a conflict with your group.

KField86 237 Posted August 13, 2012 M24 is a tack driver, aka: It's very very accurate and you can engage targets at further distances reliably. The DMR is a good medium range sniper rifle, but I don't like engaging players at more than 500 meters or so. I guess, if you know how to range with mil-dots and don't plan on engaging players further than 500m out, the DMR is the obvious choice. If you like the idea of being able to accurately shoot out to 800-900m, the M24 wins. Personal choice: m24 every time.
skillet (DayZ) 39 Posted August 13, 2012 Dmr - night vision, zoom able, miladots are fun and easy to use. It also has an "oh shit" mode, 20 rapid fire bullets if someone sneaks up on you.Did I mention night vision?
RedCoat19 0 Posted August 16, 2012 I would use m24 cus of zeroing and i like the camo on it also you can use dmr mags and convert them into four clips. I regret taking the dmr instead of the m24.
OwnexD 11 Posted August 26, 2012 I tested DMR on Lingor Island and the last patch really did add ZEROING to DMR (not mildots), it can actally zero to 800m. have the latest dayz/arma 2 beta patch. So yea DMR and as50 favourite,
