Omfg!!!! No game makes your heart beat like this one.

After falling off the deer stand, yep that's me, I spawned in Cherno and scouted around for loot. I got chased by a prosession of zeds, more than once even having to hide in a small out house praying then never gltched through the doors. I was amazed that this time I found drink, food and a pistol/rifle. Then I went off in search of the hospital and on root got rumbled by yet more zeds that got me cornered down a dead end. Having to shoot my way out I made one hell of a racket but escaped with just a little health lost. I heard gun shots just as I spied the hospital, I wasn't alone!

Of course without an axe or crowbar I had no option but to shoot out the hospital Widows then ran off to hide. A moment or two later, maybe I should of left it longer, I went in search of morphine and blood packs for the journey north. This is when the shit hit the fan, I walked out right into a zed, panicked and shot off a few rounds. Now was a good time to get out of Dodge.

Now whoever was in town obviously heard me and the commotion and as I ran for the hills I could hear gun shots behind me. They weren't to close but as I left the zeds struggling up the hill I looked back but saw nothing. Running for the woods I heard yet more gun shots, this time real close, so I did my perfect Forest Gump impression and ran for my life. By the time I heard the last two shots he must of been within a hundred feet as I hit the deck and literally shit my pants. Please god not when I was so close to getting away with all I wanted...

And that's where I bottled it and left the server. Never have I felt so nervous playing a blinking video game. Thank you Mr Hall, that was truly amazing. :)

Dont fret, people probably did not reply because you are one of many who are as excited as you. The game can truly get the blood pumping mate, what you had was truly gripping but wait until you get in a heated firefight with some other players or get your first headshot with a sniper rifle on target 800m away. Now THAT is a feeling!

I will NEVER snipe someone unless they are shooting me and at that distance I'd be in the woods so it's easier to run.

As for dc, i left and played Red Orchestra 2 as I was to nervous to play again. Lol

Dealing with Zeds is not nearly the only thing to watch out for.

Zeds are practically environmental annoyances compared to the wars going on in the cities.

I almost feel sad for them, being completely ignored.

But the first time you play they aren't environmental annoyances. How quickly the more experienced players get jaded to their first time being in a city with zeds all around them... It was terrifying for me! It was night time a few patches back so I was able to sneak pretty effectively, but it was terrifying nonetheless. On my first night I managed to find a shotgun, makarov and a hatchet and thought I was armed to the teeth. I even took out a bandit who was sneaking through the trees outside of cherno but it was pitch black and I swore he saw me... I just laid prone until he was 15-20 feet away and then made the decision to take him out... that was the most stress I've felt in a game since I played competitive CS:S and had to play a 1v1 vs fRoD for a championship (he AWP'd me as I defused....ftl :( ).

You won't get those anxious feelings as often as you become more aware of your surroundings, so enjoy them now OP!

Ahh the joys of just starting the game, sadly theres nothing of the kind after you play for a while.

Yes, especially when you think you're alone and hear multiple gunshots maybe 200m away. I was in a bush nervous as hell to even move not to be seen. Needless to say I found out who it was and was stalking them for about 2km before I lost him.

lol.

The DC was nooby but the previous time i'd died from falling off a deer stand, before that never lasted more than a few hours. Having done so well getting looted up i didn't want to die again. Thats where the nerves come in and make this game soooo cool.

Yeah that does worry me, some of my chases by zeds are in danger of becoming Benny Hill comedy moments. I wonder what Dean will do to keep it fresh?

Great stuff. Daztroyer. Nothing wrong with disconnecting when you're very new and the thrill of excitement overcomes you. Though I'm told we must not do this as it isn't using our reality to escape the game. I've been playing for about 2 weeks and I still panic and scream when I get chased by zombies. I'm on my own in Berizino - after accidentally running there from the South coast - and can't find the military tents. I managed to get to the store but I don't know this town. I'm a mix of fear, thrill and dizziness due to loss of blood. :D

The Mod is a complete and utter EMOTIONAL rollercoaster of awesomeness.... there are no other games/mods out there that i have played that have brought out the emotions that this does.

can't wait for the standalone.

I've also noticed that people in the new player forum are WAY NICER than those in the general forum. I might hang out here more often!

The tents are very close to the shore line, i spawned there once and could see them from the beach. There wasn't much there to be honest, lots of guns in a rack you couldn't pick up and no loot at all. I died not long after, nowt unusual there, lol.

The newb moments and the tension are definitely the best. The wife's made me whip around in the chair walking behind me more than once while playing this game, because I was so keyed up. I don't really see the tension going away over time, more a matter of just getting used to it.
