Switching from DayZ commander to Six Updater?

Would anyone mind helping me out and telling me or refering a guide on how to switch from Dayz Commander to Six Updater?

and if i do make the switch will my current character and everything he has be restarted?

Why would you want to, six is a POS, that's why commander was made as an alternative and no switching wont touch your character, you can use both if you want, just download it and run whichever you prefer

Don't do it.

Six Launcher/Updater is dysfunctional compaired to Commander. I just switched to Commander tonight, it is a God send.

It can be done without doing anything special from what I can tell but yeah, go ahead if you like confusing interfaces that don't make sense and multiple steps to do something as simply as update - DC does it in like two mouse clicks.

Look at it this way, using Six Updater is like driving the space shuttle down to the store for groceries. DayZ Commander is like having your groceries delivered.

To be fair, Six Updater is the best choice for updating Arma 2 when you have 20 mods installed, but it is needlessly complicated and over built if all you want to do is manage your dayz directory and get the latest arma beta patch.

Everyone has already beaten me to calling Six Launcher a bag of shit, but you can just install both and they'll run. The game doesn't really care which you use.

Seriously though, Six sucks. I'd love to see DayZ Commander become the official front end.

Oh trust me, I like Dayz commander way better. I'm Just testing something out, currently having trouble connecting to a particular server but I can get to any other server just fine. Thank you for the info haha

EDIT: Also other people can connect to the server but I cannot.

For some reason Commander downloading the patches is ssssssllllllooooowwwww as hell though it feels like i'm back in 1996 on dailup trying to d/l a centerfold, so i tend to use both, but for some mysterious reason SixLauncher is still on patch 1.7.2.4 and thus it won't update to 1.7.2.5 ... this is annoying as heck and shouldn't be needed for a simple patch, then again it's not even showing the amount of MB's it's going for... i guess it's all 'alpha, alpha' but when you want to play it's dang annoying, at some point 'people' invented mirrors and d/l managers and what not ... so if something could be done about the availability of patchreleases that be great, i tried google, but realy since they include forums in their search results the whole 'finding' things through google has gone to shits, searching still works though, but finding things (like one used to do on google) well that's long gone...

/sigh ... 6min-14% of 1 of 2 ... let's hope i can play tonight...

TNX TONS !!! now i can atleast see what's going on, and why this is taking so long, aka 100mb :P ... speed seems to have increased as well :)

Yups, so much better 0.9.0.64 got it in about 10min, which may in part be due to somebody streaming the olympics here as well... but so much better than the 5h i tried yesterday evening and getting to 66% , with nobody using the network ... lets play :D
