Locking server prior to a reset.

Recommended Posts

Is it a valid reason to lock a server 1 minute out of a reset in order to stop people from joining? We do it because we don't want people to join and the immediately get kicked off and possibly put in the debug forest (on the coast). Can we do this if the server is unlocked as soon as it comes back up?

Buffjesus is right... you can't lock a server for ANY reason... but this is by far a good reason to do it. Also 1 minutes before restart it's a very short period of time... and should not be a problem whatsoever.

I have also seen servers displaying a message like : "in 2 minutes this server will restart, log out now or you may loose your equipment"...

Everyone looks at the server names, why not put it in there?

(if you can change it while the server is active)

The server rules thread says you may lock it up to 5 minutes before server restarts...

where does it say that

cause im not seeing it

must be blind or something

4. Your server must not be password protected or locked.

BEC connection flood #lock is allowed but must be set to no more then five minutes.

Servers may also be locked briefly before scheduled restarts, again, this may not exceed five minutes.
