global ban lifted, then banned again?

Okay so I got a global ban yesterday for no apparent reason but I was chilled out about it because I was confident that BE would fix it, and surely enough, they did, I got my ban lifted as there was no evidence of me using scripts of hacks or anything like that.

So I'm playing happily today running through Elektro on my way to Cherno to get to my buddy and BANG! Global ban again. dafuq is going on?

Edit: This isn't a ban appeal or anything, I'm just really confused and wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

Do you have any kind of 3rd party software running in the background? Kinda worried the same thing will happen to me since I am using MSI Afterburner and programs alike to view my cpu temperatures / fps.

What beta patch are you using ? Rumours are it's the new patch that is causing BE to ban people.

Try reverting back to an older patch, 95417 works fine but i havn't tested any newer patches.

BE seems to be ban happy lately. I run a server and have mumble running. I know of 3 players that regularly played on our server got global bans. These are players that I've had to help walk them through installing the latest BETA patch, not really the type capable of finding and using scripts to cheat on a server. All the same, global bans.

One person mentioned they used a program similar to peer guardian for P2P software he had. He thinks that might have been the reason he got his global ban.

BE is bragging through their MOTD in BEC about hitting a 10,000 global ban mark. Kinda hard to believe that in the 10,000 global bans there aren't some false positive bans in there.

I haven't had a chance to log in since yesterday to see if my ban was lifted. I heard another person (rinsa) on reddit and here say that he got a ban lifted and then rebanned.

Not sure wtf is going on.

I got banned under patch 95724 (seeing as how patch version seems to be the prominent theory....even though I know people on new patches who are not banned)

Someone has and is spoofing your GUID.

They steal GUIDs from clan websites, server logs or even scam players to tell them their GUIDs. Everyone on the server used to see the GUID of someone when connecting now this has stopped.

Try running Mumble, just once and you will get a script violation.

This is to my knowledge impossible.

Hackers can run scripts from their computer through their client that communicates with the server. The server communicates the changes to all clients. Hence when a scripter tells the server everyone should have cool items, the server does what it's told and gives everyone cool items.

However, scripts are files run from the computer as processes. Files can only be passed by the server to the client. For instance, counter strike servers pass map and other related files upon connect to the client. I've never seen this happen with arma2 but apparently they can and do as well. However these files are determined by the server admin.

As far as I know, without actually hacking access to the entire server, it's impossible to pass script processes to other clients only by hacking their own game client / running scripts on their computer.

If someone has better knowledge and details, I would very much like to hear about the mechanics.
