Why is this happening?

Ok, so I logged on tonight to get some traveling done and maybe find a downed chopper, everything was fine on initial login.

I log out because my graphic settings were not how I left them and I wanted to reduce the size of the GUI. I did so and it required a restart. Ok, np.

I log back in and my backpack, all my guns and all my tools are gone, also the backpack slot now shows the rocket launcher.

I log out and back in, nothing has changed.

I switch servers, nothing has changed and now I am completely on the other side of the map.

I try logging in again on the first server and I am still empty, except for the stuff I am carrying minus the guns and backpack and tools, and am still at the new spot.

Ok, I say screw it and I'll just give it a go, only had an akm and a coyote nothing better.

So I hit up a few spots and pick up some stuff. I am starting to get the graphical glitch and I try flushing and changing the video memory setting and nothing helps, so I relog.

Now when I logged back in I was again outside of the building I just looted minus the pack I picked up, the two guns I just picked up and the tools I found.

Any clue why this is happening. At this point I see no reason to continue playing if this is just going to happen every time I log in.

Yes these are Hive servers, I only play on them. They are 95417 servers but I don't see as that should matter.

I'm not sure but i guess that there's still a bug in saving gear. So if you looted something and changed your inventory and backpack, it takes an unknown time until it's all saved. I've only lost maybe five water bottles, as they seem to get lost in the backpack. Cooked meat sometimes seems to deggrade back to raw too. After i've changed my gear i now wait for some minutes before logging out.

It has happened multiple times tonight. It's only taking the guns, the backpack and everything on the toolbelt. It leaves everything in my regular inventory alone.

I'm sure it's a bug of some kind. I am just wondering if I will log back in someday and be back where I was before this all happened.

Kind of sucks though. I'll just have to keep logging in each day and see if it changes but I'm definitely not going to go all out and try to do anything if this is going to happen every time I log out.

Normally you have to wait 60 seconds or more for the server to recognize you have actually picked up an item, but any longer than a minute is a bug. Try playing on some servers that are not Hive, just get a hatchet and a gun then re log and see what happens.

I just had the exact same thing happen to me. Logged in, had my alice pack, M4A1, and G17. ran from the NE airfield, to just outside the NW airfield, noticed severe artificating was starting up, Logged off so I could mess with my settings. Upon logging back in, same shit. No pack, no guns, no tools, just what was in my main inventory.

Makes me a sad panda, that's for sure. :(

The next day I logged in again on the same server and picked up an empty shotgun. I logged out and back in and still had the shotgun but I was still missing everything else that I had before except for my regular inventory.

I ended up finding a crash site with two AIM's and a couple of clips, then found a PDW, which I had a ton of ammo for. I got lucky and found a alice pack in a shed outside a barn.

I am slowly getting back to where I was before but I still need to find a better weapon than the AIM. Not that there is anything wrong with it but seeing as I don't know anybody who plays I run solo so sniping isn't really a viable tactic.

The whole experience started out as a big letdown but I enjoyed getting back on my feet from nothing and I didn't even have to start over from Day Zero. I am heading into the middle of my third week alive :)
