Global Bans for legit players?

Recommended Posts

BattlEye is so inadequate it's laughable. It may as well not be there. Hell, DayZ as a mod may as well be shut down too... we won't be getting many updates now that the focus is on the standalone game and the rampant cheating that's going on on every single server I visit (I'm not exaggerating, it's that bad) may end up putting people off purchasing the game.

Shut up, you know nothing about battleye or how the game/server takes commands. Until you have some knowledge of why it's so easy to exploit and cheat in ArmA 2 refrain from voicing your opinion. It's not battleye's fault, it's ArmA's fault, granted that this game was never made to be persistent. It's a mil sim, anyone that plays it or bought it for ArmA 2/sim aspect is most likely mature enough to enjoy their purchase without cheating.

People that don't work for what they want, can't handle the challenge or want to troll are simply here because its a persistent and extremely popular mod.

! IMPORTANT WARNING REGARDING GLOBAL BANS !

If you are globally banned, read the following rules before sending in a support request. If you don't follow these rules your request/e-mail will be ignored! Otherwise your individual case will be carefully investigated.

  • No one is banned for using non-hack programs (like Fraps, overlays, etc.), picking up or using hacked in-game items, weapons or vehicles, being on a server at the same time as a cheater, or other passive non-cheating activity. Therefore all requests mentioning these things as possible reasons for the global ban are ignored.
  • A shared or stolen cd-key is no excuse. It's your own responsibility to ensure that no one else has access to it.
  • Include your exact (!) global ban ID. The ID is shown in your global ban message ("Global Ban #ID"). If you don't include it your request will be ignored.
  • Do not tell stories. Whatever you are saying about yourself or your situation won't matter. The only thing that matters is the evidence that is gathered for every global ban issued.
  • Do not ask for the evidence behind your ban. No details about it will be revealed. Hackers would love to have access to this information.
  • Do not beg for mercy. If you cheated you will have to live with the consequences. Global bans are permanent and no exceptions will be made.
  • Questions regarding how exactly to get unbanned will be ignored. No support will be given on how to buy a new game or change your cd-key.

Again, if you don't follow these rules your request will be ignored!

Note that you will not receive a response if the evidence clearly indicates that you or someone else using your cd-key cheated. It doesn't matter if you only cheated on your own private server. Cheating on BE-enabled servers is forbidden, period.

You use BE's rules for submitting a ban review request as proof they never review bans. What's wrong with that picture??

They won't review it no matter what you do. There's no legitimate way to say 'Oh okay, your system is messed up and I think I was banned by mistake' because they can simply say YOU MAY HAVE HACKED, YOU HACKED, or NO STORIES ALLOWED.

TL;DR Battleye sucks.

Neither I nor any of my friends have banned and we have never used any sort of hack or cheat. I still find it funny though that hacking is still running rampant like yesterday when me and my buds saw about 20 buses all over the fire station outside electro with a weapon crate at the top of the tower with everything in it.

It could be that in someway to those of you who claim to have been banned for no reason may have been linked to someone who did hack. Not saying your lying but just saying it's possible.

They won't reply. They have a bullet list saying they will not tell you why you're banned, nor will they unban you, they feel their bans are correct and just (all the time) and thus a permanent ban = permanent.

This is a special situation, its not 1 player or 5 players or 15 players who got the problem, look at the forums in dayz in the BI forums, or even on reedit.

All those players got banned after they installed 95777. and the other wired thing is, that you get unbanned, after 2 hours banned again and so on.

When the BE support ignores that, they are just ****.

I really hope the DayZ Staff, will contact them for a statement, or the BE statt will give a statement.

When they say "we dont make mistakes go **** yourself" I thougt about to write them a registered letter (BE is in Germany, and iam german). We have something called "informationsfreiheitgesetzt" so they MUST give me the information about my personal account (what data they collect about it, why did they ban, and the proof of it).

That has nothing to do with sue someone, that is just a thing to get your personal information hat companies collect about you. If a company has in fact no support for the people, they have to fear the power of the people :)

No its true, check their support page, you cant include a story, so you can support that you are innocent, you cant ask to be unbanned, mistake or not, if its a mistake its final and you are done. You can't say something inside your computer is messing it up, (fraps, anything on your pc) so you still cant support yourself.

Basically, you are fucked. I sent a email anyways to test my luck.

So I was right, Battleye gives no fucks about the community. People already paid for the game, and they get some profit off it. That's all they care about, plus, the rules they give, give players who want to play the game the chance to buy it again. Its a lose, lose situation for us, and a win-win situation for them.

The submission IS asking to be unbanned....it says they dont want to hear your story...and they dont want to beg. All they want is the banID. Then (I assume they check the log and see if it was a mistake on their part).

The rules don't say...Go away were not interested. Why the fuck would they let you submit anything at all then...??? Sometimes peoples logic is so retarded and lost its amazing. Its the reason I keep coming back. It's like watching monkees in the zoo.

>Because they're retarded. You literally can't submit anything about an unban without breaking their support rules.

Thing is the logs are what issue the bans, if they check the logs it'll just show something about injecting scripts or something, and they ignore your request. Stories allow people tell them what they were doing so they can provide a good decision about keeping you banned or unbanning you.

EDIT: Although all stories are not true, and some are just fairy tales. They just need to improve their system.

Obviously by submitting the request you are saying their system screwed up right? So why do you need to say it twice. They just don't want to hear your details and specifics. Because 98% of people are going to lie and bullshit them claim this or that and it's very resource intensive.

Im not talking about you of course, you're obviously part of the 2% that tell the truth and are unjustly banned.

No you dont get to plead your case to them true....but to say they don't review claims of false bans is just a lie.....or a severe misunderstanding on your end.

How would they tell if it's a false ban to even BEGIN WITH? And I was never banned, I just refuse to play Dayz/Arma 2 multiplayer until this issue is resolved.

On one hacking site alone, there are 6743 people currently viewing the Arma2/DayZ section, with the Mods stating over 10 thousand unique hits a week. Them numbers alone show that this ban wave could of resulted in thousands of hackers being banned at the same time during the banwave

All these script kiddies thinking there bypass would keep them safe, oblivious to the fact there bypasses don't get around checksum memory patch scans.

Quote from BE

All you crying, you got caught. There is no accidental banning of players. Go back to hacking COD.

Not really. Like in America we have a law protecting us from "unlawful search and seizure". But if you consent to the search...you can't later say you were illegally searched.

When you installed BE....you agreed to their terms and conditions. End of story.. It sucks yes.....but end of story

Nope, not really.

Consenting to a search is not exactly the same as agreeing to terms and condition's, now is it?

A better example is the Steam EULA which stated that you could not resell your games, well the Court of Justice of the European Union found that they can, so law > contract at least in the EU.

i think some hackers didn't know about the ban waves battleye rolls out every now and then, when hackers aren't immediately found out

and they seem to cry, boy do they

the chance of getting a key that has been spoofed out of sheer randomness is close to zero, even with one million players, and even if you got that key, the guys from battleye and bohemia can see, if they care, if the key was allready used for a copy or not

do the math, how many didgets has a cd key? 12-16. how many possibilities using all numbers and all letters of the alphabet?

with 12 didgets, its allready a chance from over 1 to 1*10^19, minus the mask of possibilities not valid for a cd key

still, its an awfull small chance, and i dont think hackers or cheaters would refrain from crying like a little b*tch if they got caught and swear to be "legit players"
