Honestly you guys need hacker protection. And in order for that o work is to get a hacker yourself to protect against griefers honestly hacking to precent hacking is 100% understandable in this situation

I honestly wish we could find someone to constantly watch for greifing hackers on our server, but who is going to spend money on a battle-eye bypass to run hacks, to then just sit around for hours watching for hacks? Think of Gandalf in LotR, he would take the ring with the intention to do good, but through him, the ring would wield a weapon too powerful to imagine, Inevitably, the watcher would get bored, then start using the hacks for recreational use, which nobody wants.

me and a few friends tried following the rules and ended up getting shot.

So 2 can play that game, and we all re-join to raid them and as soon as we start taking guys out they shut down the server.

and I have it all on video.

Kids like this should not be allowed to run a server.

If you can't play the game the way it was intended don't play it at all.

That was some fun dayz. I participated as a peaceful colonist. Arriving with an m4 with flashlight I found on the way. Greeted at the door by the guy who I had shot dead in defense the day before. I put my weapon in the tent as instructed. Ran into the "survivor lounge" and no sooner could i pig out on the tent full of foodstuffs then I was instructed to hit the deck, we're under attack.

This lasted all night. A couple times we could get up and talk to the guards and other survivors. I handed out some ghillie suits I found last night. The server did restart a few couple times, but I was always right back on there with my flashlight and nvgs to watch the chaos. Eventually the everlasting drone of flies from a dead guard drove me to venture out of my safe haven. I checked out the body, tried to sink it into the ground. Then turn to go back to the lounge and was shot in the back. That's why I love dayz, my carelessness of going outside the lounge was instantly punished.

Then I spawned, right on the coast near the colony. And ran back, but as soon as I reached the compound and started walking I was gunned down. Not going to be discouraged I respawned way down south and set off in that direction, I saw a barn along the way and stopped to loot, flashing my light all around I was was greeted by TheGrapist18 over voice chat. He couldn't hear me, but I typed back until he got banned. So I kept going north and somehow stumbled onto a nice white pickup with tons of ammo and a few supplies. Attempting to drive that back was a bit of a challenge. Somehow I ended up back at the coast near elecktro, so I kept going north and saw a survivor, I honked, and stopped, but he said he was waiting for someone, so I kept going north. Saw yet another person, and then a big truck. We all stopped and the person (pedro) jumped into my truck and we followed the truck back to pickup the first guy. The truck kept going to pickup more people and I turned the truck back north, we drove up to a sign to get our bearings and I started to get the graphical glitch so pedro jumped into the drivers seat and drove us the rest of the way...eventually.

We had to bash our way into the barbwire fortress with the truck. And there was only one guard who had retaken the colony. So worried for my safety against zombies which spawn all around the compound, and were previously handled by the guards, I grabbed my m4 out of the tent and took up position in the lounge. I wasn't about to shoot anyone who came through the door, but if I had to defend myself I could have. Eventually the lone guard reported 5 guys inbound, I hear a truck, then another vehicle. Then a lot of gunfire, then silence. The server restarted and when I logged back on I could only find pedro. He had his double barreled shotty and was running around killing zeds. I see another female character run by and start to freak out a bit, but it turned out to be a hopeful colonist. Asking if I was security. I pick off a couple zeds out back because I hear pedro upstairs with what sounds like a hoard, then I hear it, SNAP, oh shit I think, pedros down, he'll need a bandage, at least I can offer that. So i start picking off zeds on the way up the stairs, not knowing exactly where he was, the unarmed colonist right behind me. We ended up missing each other and he was back in the lounge. But I had sustained an injury from a zombie, I looked at my inventory in horror seeing I only had 1 bandage. Pedro said he needed morphine, at least he'll live with a broken leg. So I use the bandage thinking our situation is hopeless. When I get back, pedro is spewing blood and asking for a bandage :( He screams over chat "DON'T GO OUTSIDE!" as I run out the front door in full sprint towards the tents, check them, no morphine, no bandages. Cursing my reckless decision I turned and started to run back but just couldn't help looking towards the source of those cracks, and then I'm dead.

That was some of the most fun I've had in DayZ and you could sum it up by.. I walked a lot, drove a bit, sat around the colony unarmed, and died 3 times. Never once firing my gun at another uninfected human, and never shying away from them either.

I won't comment on the hacks/bans/restarts. Since I had no clue what was going on most of the time. Every time an armed guard came into the room, I expected my life to end. No tags, no kill message. So much uncertainty.

Also, on a server with notags where its nearly impossible to find out which person it is thats hacking, when there IS a suspected hacker, its best to shut down the server to get rid of them. So calling it admin abuse doesnt seem appropriate when all it was was an attempt to protect the community from a hacker that we cant easily deal with, we dont want people to lose their gear to bullshittery.

u need more guards and counter snipers.... dont put all your snipers in the camp place them around it so they all dont get bum raped becuase they sit in the same spot

Been there done that. Found a camp with pretty much all the vehicles (Except 2 bikes, 1 bus and the white off-road which I had at that time) on GB #500 UK Met, killed all people in their camp and waited for restart (as I knew it would happen due to me killing the whole clan running that server). Then once the server went back up I stole their chopper, hid it in a safe spot and haven't played there since then.

Back on topic, I would love to raid that camp but seeing as they track me by my GUID/IP using DayZ commander, I would probably be kicked upon entering the server.

afaik, you can't track someone by his GUID or IP by using DayZ Commander, only by the name and it takes 2 seconds to change your profile name..

I'm just curious, how did you get inside the compound? I assume you were the one who shot me (unarmed female) in the back beside the stairs on the ground floor. Did you enter through the front gate?
