where to find canteen and matches?

I need to find a canteen and matches I want to go way up north far away from zombies and make a camp and hunt for a living and keep that risky raiding down to a min where can I find these things

you can find them anywhere really, just look in houses and such

Vybor is the best place for finding survival gear. sneak in. take everything you need. sneak out. prone. don't agro = profit

I had a hard time finding matches as well, so your not alone on that. You can find them in those buildings with the bar and upper-rooms, where i found some. Canteens are in there as well, but as well as many other other locations. Just keep looking, you will find some eventually.

To be honest, matches and a watch should be some of the easiest things to find in game.

Residential buildings are your safest bet. Survivor bodies too.
