Kills/time in game ratio?

Just finished on day 1 in the wilderness with 697 kills. I think im doin pretty well .just wondering what you guys have been up to ? whats youre's ?

The first DayZ survival guide I read told me to "not shoot any zeds unless one absofuckinglutely has to"

I still try to live by this rule (and improve my gear, so not only hanging in the woods like a hermit), so I take pride in killing as few zeds as possible since there is no added value, unless I have aggroed them or want to help out some other survivors. Have been living for some 15plus days at the moment with a zed kill count of 70-something.

I guess I'd have a horrid KD, I avoid zombies and I strive to be friendly, which always gets me killed. Having a K/D (at least if visible to others) would somewhat increase a typical FPS environment to the game, not so much a survival aspect.

i mean all kills . zombies are just to fun to kill .

Right now I have 0 zombie killes and 2 murders, I'm currently just killing snipers in elektro who thinks it's fun to snipe fresh-spawns.

also id like to add im in this to survive not to go shooting noobs in cherno but with the guns i have at the moment killing zeds passes the time in the wilderness while a search for the lovely beans and cows and more ammo for my m249 and m4a1 cco sd ! twas a good first day

I am a bit of a lurker and avoid confrontation but that doesent mean im not an excelent scout. I am that Hermit guy hitting supply dumps and watching most people go about their buisness. I am also a spotter for my designated marksman but I am begining to think we need to switch roles as he can't get a headshot to save his life.

Hank keep yours eyes out for Crash sites up north i found a whole box of that stanag sd ammo for the weapon you use in an ammo box out at one. You can also on rare ocassion find a clip in a tree stand. Thanks for the Beans and good luck out there Sir.

yep thats what im at found 2 so far looted all the good gear found 30 clips for the m4a1 sd so very happy out. m249 ammo proving to only be in the airstrip unfortunatly to dangerous and the tearing or clipping whatever its called makes it near impossible to get close to it . myself and my silenced friend shall continue on tho .

As for your SAW ammo I have found that dropping the soldiers at tree stands does on occasion loot you the ammo for that weapon but it takes some time and multiple tree stand hits. also always check the bodies as it will not always list clips of ammo mousing over them. I havent been fortunate enough to get my hands on a saw as after i got my m4a1 i havent ventured back out to the airfield as it is a risky venture with the graphical issues. I have found that closing and relaunching the game will on ocassion resolve that issue with the grapphics if you are brave enough to go for it.

I try not to kill Zeds. It's just a way of making the mod easier for yourself.

You do know that the M249 SAW takes 30 Round STANAG mags in addition to those big ol' belts, right?

I am sure he is aware however the belts take far less space for the amount of ammo capacity 30 rounds per invintory slot vs 100 for each slot makes it a more prefered way of carrying ammo.

Update was murdered by a tree ironically made it back to my body eventually gear all stil intact time to start all over again lol day 1

Watch out for those killer pine trees they can 1 shot you here is to hoping they remove collision with trees as its pretty lame to lose a streak to something of that "nature" lol

I probably average about 5 Zombie kills an hour. One bandit kill every 72 hours. I don't kill players unless they try to kill me and I have no escape. I loot towns fairly quickly running in and never crawl so I enevitably kill a few zombies after getting clear of town that wanted to come along for a walk.

Won't help. There is the in-game score tally as well. Stat whores will always be in this game when thats there.
