Never 237 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) Running them in tandem for a while gives Rocket & team a great way to trail content.They can stick something in the mod, if the users hate it, they know not to waste time expanding it for the standalone. Its a fucking great way to make a game.Of course Rockets whole patter about a 'gaming experiment' might turn out to be some of the best marketing BS this year. (so I can have the first expansion twice.) Nope, instead It'll be way better if I pay $15.00 apiece for 4 more expansions! YEAH!!! manseedcannon 5 Posted August 7, 2012 i bought arma 2 just to play dayz and ive been playing it damn near nonstop ever since. just ask my pissed off wife about it. its more than worth the $30 i paid, and i play it on a pos computer that barely runs it. still my fav game. also, i highly doubt 4k new ppl a day are buying new keys so that they can cheat. thats really far fetched. "not so bright" sounds about right when referring to your post.Well, people buying Arma 2 just to play Dayz are not that bright.Arma 2 has a lot of other good mods and what not. Heck the regular game is fun too.Powell,Yeah, a lot of folks are still joining the Dayz hype, but I think they will be sadly disappointed. Of course at some point progress for the mod will stop to further the advancement of the standalone game. Everyone seems to forget that Rocket's team for DayZ in the beginning was a small number of people. They weren't prepared for the sudden blast of new players that led from mere thousands to hundreds of thousands. They didn't have the man power, the funds, or the resources to keep this mod ahead of the curve in terms of adding new features and fixing bugs. Rocket's development plan was severely haulted and it's amazing they've kept it alive this long. Now that Rocket has the proper means of assembling a larger team, the backing of money and other resources, we can expect that updates and fixes to both mod and the game will come somewhat quicker.People always seem quick to critisize and redicule a man who almost single handedly brought millions of dollars to BI with a broken game.
