Do you actually have to spend 24 hours logged into the game to make the day increment?

Not 100% sure but I think you have to play for at least 1 hour a day to increase it.

Not 100% sure either, but i think you don´t have to play it at all to make the dayz count.

But one thing is sure! You do not have to play 24 hours for 1 day :)

It keeps counting, for each Hive server day that you are alive. Apparently you do not even have to login each day for it to continue counting, but I have not tested it myself.

I highly doubt it, im on day 6 and don't think I would of spent that much time playing dayz..

No, i lost my internet connection for a week, and when i logged back in, i was a week "older" ingame, so it keeps counting

It counts as long as you are alive, even if you don't log in.

Thanks.

I often see people posting that they had a XX day old character, but that doesn't mean anything

if it doesn't reflect how much time you actually spend logged-in to the server.
