mike32 3 Posted August 6, 2012 i just found it and idk if i should keep it. Is it strong enough to be a sniper? does it have the range? what do you guys think?
ODoyleRulez 195 Posted August 6, 2012 Yes it is good. works with NVG.Yes it has range if you know how to use it.
Fitzkrieg 129 Posted August 6, 2012 Eh, if your a good shot near any sniper is worth keeping. But hey, it's a good gun, I just don't like snipers. So if you ave something better, keep that. But if you want a good sniper. Keep the DMR.
krtshv 362 Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) DMR has no zeroing. You have to use the mildots. Each mildot is 100 meters apart (distance wise) and the center is zeroed to 300 meters. That means that with mildots, your maximum effective range is 800 meters. The DMR does the same damage as any other non-anti-material sniper rifle and can be used along with NVG's.It can use the M24 ammo (4x M24 into 1 DMR mag). Jony_RocketInMyPocket 172 Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) It's good if you don't mind adjusting for range all the time. Edited August 6, 2012 by Jony_RocketInMyPocket
Delta-Dude 52 Posted August 6, 2012 Most innacurate Sniper Rifle in this game. But..high enough damagehigh ammo capacity (20 in clip)good zoomrapid fire speedonly sniper rifle that works with NVG.Makes it the only good sniper rifle for the night time. Unless you're a douchebag and use cheated AS50 with Thermal scope or anything like this.
shagohad 124 Posted August 6, 2012 yes its quite strong will easily kill someonenice thing about it is that it is semi auto and has a large capacity so you can easily adjust your aim and continue firing, plus on servers with crosshair on you can use it effectively in CQCdepends on play style though really what is your gun ath the moment? Check updated guides for DMR, it has slightly more complicated range for mildots rather then just 100 per bar and mildots calculation is different if you Double Zoom. Here's the Table For DMR users if they actually want to perform headshoots or at least 1-3 well aimed shots, instead of rapidly shooting everything around the target and killing it eventually with a lucky shot only. random51 172 Posted August 6, 2012 DMR is pretty good. Harder to use than the rifles where you can change the zeroing, though.Spend some time in the Armory to learn how to use the mildots properly at each zoom level. Once mastered it is one of the best overall rifles. Hard to compete with the lame 1-hit anywhere AM rifles, but still.
Herr Robert 28 Posted August 6, 2012 The DMR is a good sniper and fun to use aswell. It's perfect for ranges of 400-500m, especially if you are shooting at multiple targets that might even be moving. The downside is that it takes two bodyshots to kill someone, which gives your targets time to disconnect or hit ALT+F4 to avoid death, unless you can kill them fast enough or take them out with a headshot. Stick with it until you come across a .50 cal.
Fribox 34 Posted August 6, 2012 The M14 AIM is a great gun too, amazing for taking out anything and has ammo basically everywhere.Scope mildots are 100 meters each, max "effective" range of 800 meters. Though in OF:DR I've gotten head-shots over 1400 meters with it on stationary targets.Powerful rifle, 8000 blood damage and will knock down in one shot, targets will only live if you let them bandage and run or they ALT+F4. Ammo is everywhere, fairly common.Id say keep it, its a fine gun, coupled with a decent sidearm like a G17 or PDW it will serve you well.
Buffjesus 357 Posted August 7, 2012 until you find a .50 might aswell keep iti personally find the gun is god awfulhit guy onceguy starts running aroundthen either: he aborts, he manages to hide behind something, he survives 4 shots anyway cause the gun is weak as hell
Teiwaz 45 Posted August 7, 2012 DMR is just awesome.As every mildot range/zeroing table I came across was at least some way off, that's what my testing on the shooting range said:For range just use a calculator. Formula is <target height (1.8m for standing)> * 1000 / mildots. So a standing target at 600m is exactly 3 mildots high, at 300m it's 6 mildots.For zeroing:1x zoom:C: 125m-1: 400m-2: 650m-3: 800m-4: 975m-5: 1075m2x zoom:C: 400m-1: 475m-2: 550m-3: 625m-4: 700m-5: 750m
sonicrainbrony 136 Posted August 7, 2012 high ammo capacity (20 in clip)I always get cancer when I see someone say "clip" instead of "magazine". People, learn the difference.
RudestBuddhist 76 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) I always get cancer when I see someone say "clip" instead of "magazine". Hetstaine 10852 Posted August 7, 2012 Yep love the DMR as my travelling gun when out and about, once i have that and my ak74 Kob i am happy.I pass on the as50 and prefer the DMR. Once you have the mildots and distances worked out it is an awesome gun. Strokes for folks.
