Do cars, tents, etc. despawn?

I'v been playing this mod for a while and I place a tent down, place some items in it for the night, scroll and select save camping tent over 3 times and log out...when I log back in its gone. Same goes for vehicles. Does it usually do that with everything? Keep in mind I log back inthe same server, and I'm in the outskirts of everything and doubt it was anyone who took my things. Could be, just highly doubt it.

Depends on the server right now I think...

I've had my camp spawn and despawn with server restarts all the time. Same with a little boat I keep stashed away.

When you say outskirts, your still on map and not on the plains? Also do they not reappear after a further restart?

I believe tents/cars despawn/respawn in original location, if they are left idle for 7 days. Can't be bother to find the thread, sorry..going to bed soon.

If a vehicle doesn't spawn at a server restart, they should reappear next restart. Tested with a missing chopper, was back next restart.

I am also experiencing this. Found a vehicle, setup a camp in the woods pretty far north west in the bushes on a low pop server but woke up today and the tent/vehicle were gone. It was 12 hours and while its possible someone could have found it I think it's highly unlikely so I'm hoping a server restart fixes this.

Can someone tell me if my car will despawn I will be back on today but haven't been on seince yesterday I put my loot in it for my friend who died but will it be gone when I come back I did hide it in a place where no one will find it

This thread is months old man, you have no reason to think that your car will despawn, maybe if the server you are playing on is having database issues sure, but thats not a common problem.

Thats not to say your car will definately be there when you get back on, there's no such thing as " a place where no one will find it" in dayz

So.

I've logged into my camp after a long hiatus, found that all my tents are missing and all that was left was a damaged truck and intact motorcycle, both of which I didn't park there, containing weapons and miscellaneous goodies (which I took) alongside a tent and relocated my base (after all it was discovered).

So it might just as well happen that the tents respawn at some point?

Might be worth to check back there some day or another...

side note:

I do not approve of the M107s on the truck that lock on to everything from vehicles to people to tents... I assume there was foul play involved in my camp's discovery...

After a long hiatus, yes, tents normally go bye bye. I think the rule is still that you need to touch it every week or so.

The stuff you found there was from someone else who found you out, watched your stuff for a while, and when you were really gone, they just squatted. Dumb on their part.

Tents can disappear and reappear after a server restart or two, but this problem is largely gone from the better-managed servers.

I believe your concerns with the M107 are being addressed in an update soon.

As far as foul play being involved with your camp's discovery: Absolutely, just go ahead and assume yes. All server owners/admins know where your tents, vehicles, spawn locations, etc are.

All of them, all of it. No exceptions. Check out the FAQ on the hosting companies that provide most of the public hive servers. It's listed right on their page, touted as a feature you are buying, along with the ability to password-lock the server - which used to be an enforced, kicked off the hive, no-no.

It's really not worth putting that much thought into it actually. Just accept it and hope the stand alone is the complete opposite in that regard.

HAHA Nice! That's the rule. Take what you find that you want, and if you suspect something is not to your liking, blow everything else up.
