Make sure that you have run both ARMA2 and ARMA2 Operation Arrowhead at least once, this will create a registry entry for the key and also submit it to the hive. On one of the kids machines this actually took about 15 minutes delay until the key was accepted.

For now, just run these two games at least once and then try Dayz.

You need to run steam as an administrator which will allow it to create the registry entry.

If you're using steam, verify the game cache. Then run Arma 2, then OA then CO and then it should work.

thanks for the advise but I didn't get arma2 or arma2 OA through steam. I can't run arma2 OA, as soon as I open OA it starts to load then the "Bad serial number given in Setup" tab comes on the screen :/
