    • No, I am far too attached to my gear.

    • No, for some other reason which is not about gear (I realize there really is no other reason, so it actually is gear-related)

Database wipe includes: everyone starting at day 0, on the beach, no tents, no items, nothing. Every single player starts as a fresh spawn and you start all over again.

Just kind of curious what everyone thinks here.

Quick Edit: If someone can provide any valid reason besides gear loss as a reason to not wipe the database, I will change out the 4th option.

Let me guess, you just got killed and someone out there is running around with your gear right now.

Id fancy to have a setup like Diablo II (and probably many other RPG's but thats the only one I realy played) with a ladder, one that resets everything every few months and moves the items/ players to non ladder if they like to move there with their items.

Actually I'm sitting outside of a supermarket in Polana with NVG and M9SD shooting zombies in the head.

If they can actually fix duping it'd be good to reset and get rid of all the duped and hacked weapons for a little bit.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Rocket said duping can never be fully fixed until they get to develop the standalone. Its the ARMA 2 engine and they can't fix it all. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Anyways I voted no because I see no reason for it.

You are probably right. I did no research on this matter before I created the poll, just curious.

I think a reset would be fun personally.

What engine will they be using for standalone DayZ?

Also, yes i would like a full data swap even though i got a good camp

No. I don't think it would be good for the game. Lot of players would quite out of frustration. What about the newbie who just found his first honest military item? Or the clan that just got their first helicopter up and running?

I haven't really looked into it but my guess would be they would use the same engine as ARMA 3? :P

I like the idea of a full reset and I have plenty to lose.

But if hackers can just spawn more shit and people keep duping, it won't take long until the high tier loot levels are back to where they are now.

In the event that there were a wipe, legit players would lose all their stuff they've worked so hard to get and the cheaters/dupers would win in the end, spawning new items / duping the upcoming existing ones.

Short-term even table for all but long-term pretty hard on legit players imo -> cheaters win nevertheless?

And then the players that dupe will has a massive advantage over players that don't, no thanks.

I think there should be a wipe at every patch or something similar, we're in alpha, people seem to forget that. I think once hackers/dupers are fixed there should definitely be a wipe, as well as a wipe going from alpha to beta and similar major updates.

You can't fix duping in the arma 2 mod, wait for open beta/closed beta on the stand alone.

Not really that much. players need to find military items before they can dupe it. they need to find it first. Maybe ammo, but that's it Edited by shreddedrocks
