How to use the MAP! Help :(

Recommended Posts

This is probably the dumbest question of all time.

How do you use the MAP? I know you press 'M' but after that I only see like 30% of the map as far as I know. When I try to move it it takes so slow to creep up and down on the map. When I say slow I mean slow as fuck! What am I missing? Keyboard keys I need to know? Everytime I find a map I always wanted to go to high traffic areas such as the air field, but of course I can't because I don't know how to use the fucking map :(

I'm such a retard :(

Help appreciated :)

EDIT - I'm really new to dayz.

Hi retardrandom noob,

Press M

Mouse wheel to zoom in and out

Double click to put a marker (all with a map can see it)

Left Shift+ Click to set a waypoint (some servers disable waypoints)

Have fun dying.

Try visiting dayzdb.com, they have a very detailed map that, in my opinion, is nicer looking than the in-game one.

DayZ DB map may be more detailed, however its coord's are inaccurate and not as precise as the in-game map. Only use it to see what loot types are around you, or plotting a loot run. Otherwise use the In-game map to navigate the wilderness within the game.

hi,

It seems you have low fps while you navigate on the map. It is performance problem.

Have a look to this links:

It will maybe help to set you game to obtain the best performances.

EDIT: NVM I didn't read carefully your post.

Agreed, I just figured he's not too concerned with exact coordinates. The in-game map is definitely the better option once he gets more comfortable with the game.
