How can I replanish blood?

I started playing yesterday and I noticed I can't transfuse blood to myself.

Is there a way to replanish blood when if I play solo?

Eating canned food gives you back 200 blood per can.

If you have a hatchet, matches, hunting knife, you can kill an animal, gut it, cook it, eat it to replenish 800 blood per meat.

Yea, at this time you can't use a bloodbag on yourself. If you're playing in a team, that's when bloodbags come in handy.
